After personal assistant Kiersten Abbott wins sixty-nine million dollars in the lotto, she suddenly has more than enough money to quit her impossibly demanding job. But where’s the fun in that? She decides to stay and exact a little revenge on her insufferable ass of a boss.
Billionaire Cole Harrington quickly figures out something’s afoot with his usually agreeable personal assistant. When he finds out about the office pool betting on how long it’ll take him to fire her, he decides to spice things up and see how far he can push her until she quits.
The game is on, with everyone waiting to see who will crack first. But the bet sparks a new dynamic between them, and soon they realize they just might have crossed that fine line between hate and love.

I believe in almost every working woman’s (or man’s) life she’s run into the boss from hell… I know I have. Kiersten Abbott certainly has such a boss in Cole Harrington. As his personal assistant, Kiersten does just about every petty, stupid and exasperating task that his royal jerk-ness has put before her – including being basically at his beck and call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week… with no time off for good behavior. Yet, like most of us, it’s a good job when new good jobs aren’t always that easy to find – so she’s stuck it out dreaming of the day she can sing him an old country song about exactly where he can put this job.
That day finally, unexpectedly arrived when she and her two best friends won a huge lottery. We’re talking mega-huge here. Enough to walk out that door and never look back. Except… wouldn’t it be fitting justice to make Cole fire her instead. Make him responsible for losing the best personal assistant he’ll ever have and then laugh in his face with more than a few choice words. Yeah. That’s a much more enjoyable exit interview idea. And it would have worked out so well if the stubborn man would just go ahead and fire her, she’s certainly given him enough cause. But it seems two are playing the “fire me, I’ll make you quit” game… and if they’re really lucky they’ll both end up winners.
I absolutely adored 69 Million Things I Hate About You. Talk about a hate turns to love romance that has all those good parts that we’d all love to say and do .. if only we could. Full of laugh out loud moments and some you go girl cheering Kiersten on in her quest for revenge, I had such fun with this story. And eventually we (and Kiersten) get to see Cole in a different light, the kind that makes sparks fly and dreams of happy ever after take flight. Steamy, charming, funny and touching, this one had everything I enjoy and I’d happily recommend it to any Romance reader. Now the wait for the next story in the series.
