She names an impossible price…

August Wolf is back home on his family’s Texas ranch for good this time, and he has a lot to prove. He’s taken his inherited portion of the ranch as far from the family’s famed longhorn legacy as possible, but a devastating accident throws his plans and his life in jeopardy. August doesn’t have the word ‘quit’ in his vocabulary even when he has to reach out and beg for help from the woman least likely to answer his call – his furious and broken-hearted ex.

Last Stand is the last town winemaker Catalina Clemmens wants to return to, and August Wolf is the last man she wants to see. And work for him? Never. But when an injured August stands before her and begs, Cat sees a chance to finally have some closure on their long, fraught history, the soul-searing lust and her love that still burns brightly. She names a price she knows he’ll never pay.

But August says yes… and then he ups the ante.

Title:  A Bride for the Texas Cowboy
Series:  The Texas Wolf Brothers #2
Author:  Sinclair Jayne
Genre:  Modern Western Romance
Published:  September 26, 2019
Publisher:  Tule Publishing
My Rating:  4 stars

A BRIDE FOR THE TEXAS COWBOY is the second story in The Texas Wolf Brothers series.  While August’s and Cat’s story could be read on its own, I would strongly suggest reading this series in the Last Stand, Texas connecting set of series in order.  There is background, almost a parallel timeframe to the stories in this series and I believe you’ll follow easier if you’ve read A SON FOR THE TEXAS COWBOY first.  That’s my personal opinion, you do what works for you.

To say that Cat and August have an intensely emotional history, as well as their families, would be a vast understatement.  August’s new venture, his wine tasting room was practically destroyed in the accident that connects all of the Last Stand, Texas line in one way or another.  He’s been injured and has to get his business back up and running as soon as possible.  But he’s going to need help.  The one person who he should never ask for anything is really the only person he’d trust to help him now – trouble is, while Cat may be a magician in her field she’s also his ex.  An ex that he did not leave on good terms, at all.  It’s going to get complicated real fast.

Emotions run high and intense in A BRIDE FOR THE TEXAS COWBOY.  And to be frank, August can be quite the jerk at times.  Watching Cat and August navigate a second chance to get their love right was enjoyable and frustrating at the same time.  There is no love lost between their families and that plays quite a bit into their story.  It’s a rocky road to their happy ending, but one that I would recommend you experience for yourself.  I enjoyed myself and am definitely looking forward to another brother’s story real soon.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher, Tule Publishing. That does not change what I think of this story.  It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*
