These hardworking cowboys give everyone a second chance…
When single mom Jessica Cook is at the end of her rope, she takes her 16-year-old daughter to Turn Around Ranch. The ranch has a great reputation for teen therapy, and Jessica prays there’s room there for her and Chloe.
Wade Dawson’s first priority is to keep the ranch afloat to help teens and their families. But he can’t seem to keep his boundaries when it comes to Jessica—she’s talked her way into a job on the ranch so she can stay near her daughter and her tenacity and courage are truly impressive. Not to mention she’s a natural beauty and sparks fly whenever he’s in her vicinity.
But as one crisis after another befalls the ranch, Wade is going to have to decide whether he can afford to let a woman get under his skin.

There were a few things I liked about A Cowboy Never Quits before I even clicked on the very first page of the story. Yeah, sometimes cover blurbs do draw me into a story. The idea of a ranch for teens that are troubled, acting out, or in actual trouble right now and need help, understanding, guidance from people who are not their parents is something that is actually needed (and probably exists in this world, somewhere) and to see how that would work out intrigued me. The second is a simple fact in that cover description – Jessica has a teen-age daughter, Chloe – which means this is, if not a true Seasoned Romance, then at least a story about people no longer in that fresh bloom of youth. And I, quite frankly, find that I am looking for more and more stories about couples beyond their 20s… not that I don’t still read those, I do but because I’m looking for life experiences in heroes and heroines lately in my reading choices.
What I discovered once I started reading was an, at times intense story with characters who felt realistic, believable in their actions and their words. I could feel Jessica’s fears and frustrations over her daughter’s actions, and I could sense Wade’s troubled mind as he struggles to not only keep this ranch running but starting to deal with personal feelings he’d long thought himself beyond. I found myself falling into this world and liking what I found here.
The humor, represented differently in each character, was off the charts. I snort-laughed so much throughout this one. The Dawson family is such an amazing group of people brought together in a way that made them feel as close as neighbors and I wanted them all for best friends. Yes, there are some moments that either Jessica or Wade (or both) could have earned a stern talking to… but, hey, it was so realistically portrayed that the feeling of “what are you doing!” wasn’t as strong as it might have been. In all, I had a fantastic time with A Cowboy Never Quits and I’m definitely on board to follow the rest of this series.
