On the run from her past, photographer Ali Thibeaux arrives undercover in Marietta to find her biological half-sister. Plan A: Meet Olivia, photograph her wedding, and disappear before endangering anyone. Plan B: All hell breaks loose.
Reclusive rancher Adam Wolfe’s only plan when he hires Ali to manage his dysfunctional household is to go on hiding from the world. But his scars don’t seem to matter to the beauty who unexpectedly turns his house into a home and heals the rift between him and the teen aged niece he’s taken in. Still, he suspects there’s more to Ali than meets the eye and he’s determined to uncover what she’s hiding from him before it’s too late.

It’s a hard fact of life that sometimes doing the right thing, for the right reasons will follow you forever… and not in a good way. Ali knows this all too well as she tries, repeatedly unsuccessfully, to avoid one man set on righting a wrong (in his mind only), one vindictive stalker who will never, ever let Ali go.
One overeager pawn shop keeper, one day too late to pick up a precious camera, Ali will set out to see if she can buy back one item that means so much to her… and finds far more than she ever bargained for. Adam mistakes her for an applicant for the job opening he has to cook for the family and be a companion to his niece Carrie. They each need something from the other so a deal is struck. It’s a deal more to her benefit as she’s looking for her half-sister Olivia, to photograph her wedding, to just meet and know but not tell who they are to each other. Ali would never put her in danger by leading her stalker straight to someone he could use to hurt her… but best intentions won’t help her now.
A Cowboy To Keep is an intense at times, sadly sweet at other times romance that will capture your heart. Adam is a strong, stubborn character who has been through so much in life. Ali really sees him, the man behind the scars and the keep away attitude. Their attraction is believable and they make a strong, stubborn couple. I liked then individually and definitely together. While you don’t “have” to have read the earlier books in this series, I would strongly suggest that you pick them up if you can. There are relationships and history from the series that will make parts of A Cowboy To Keep make a bit more sense in spots.
I enjoyed my time once again with the Canadays of Montana and would recommend this story, or the entire series to any Romance reader who enjoys likable, believable characters, a bit of mystery and two people who were made for each other. Follow their journey and enjoy.
