Suzanna is so over love gone wrong – for her that she hasn’t even mentioned that her latest boyfriend had taken a hike without a goodbye to her parents. Her mother might still have the idea that all is well in love-land for Suzanna but that is far from reality, and she’s just not ready for another ‘pity poor Suzanna party’. So when her mother shows up at her apartment unexpectedly, and sees Suzanna’s sexy next door neighbor standing way too close, well can’t really blame mom for getting the wrong idea. An awkward situation sure, but did Jake really have to step in to save her by claiming to be her new boyfriend? And was it a even crazier idea to continue this pretend relationship throughout the holidays with her entire family? Probably. But they were in it now and they’d have to wing it and cross fingers from here until after Christmas. But what if pretend becomes something more?
A Mistletoe Kiss is a fun pretend boyfriend romance that will charm your heart quite easily. Jake is a loner and doesn’t stay in one place for long. His childhood, his military history, just life in general seems to work out that Jake is alone except for his big goofy dog Rufus. He doesn’t feel he’s cut out for the forever kind of thing but Suzanna’s changing his mind. Suzanna’s been dumped at the alter, left without a goodbye and ready to just step away from the romance scene. That spark is there with Jake, but they both know this is only pretend, right? I had such a good time with this story. Realistic characters, a solid story and that touch of Christmas magic make this a story that I’d happily recommend to any Romance reader.
