This city boy has it all figured out…
Until he goes toe-to-toe with a fierce cowgirl who’s snagged the home field advantage.

Holiday, Texas is known far and wide as the most celebratory town in the South–and no shindig is complete without one of its founding members. It’s a real shame the last remaining Holiday is a city slicker, but what’s that old saying about putting lipstick on a pig…?

Beck has no intention of being charmed by some crazy Texas town, but the minute he lays eyes on his grandfather’s old honky tonk–and Charlie Walker, the beautiful cowgirl who runs it–he finds himself wishing things could be different. Life’s gentler in Holiday. Slower. More real than anything he’s ever known. And when he looks into Charlie’s eyes, Beck may finally discover what it’s like to truly belong.

Titles in the Holiday, Texas series include:  All-American Cowboy –  Cowboy Christmas  Jubilee –

What do a city slicker, a honky-tonk manager and… one pig of a beauty contestant have in common?  Well, not much at first aside from obligation for one and honest affection from the other for one deceased man… the pig didn’t care one way or the other.  If you love a Cowboy Romance where the “cowboy” is totally out of his element, then you’ll have fun with All-American Cowboy, I know I certainly did.

Beck pulls into Holiday, Texas with the determination to fulfill the bare minimum of the will’s requirements, then get out of town back home to New York where he has plans for his inheritance.  Things don’t always go as planned, especially when Beck finds himself falling for one stubborn, determined honky-tonk manager.  Charlie is nothing like  Beck expected, and certainly nothing like the women he usually goes for.  There’s just something about her that hits all the right notes for him.  But his real life is elsewhere.  Can he really love Charlie enough to change his entire life?  Or, for that matter, could she?

I had fun with All-American Cowboy, and I’m definitely looking forward to returning to Holiday, Texas in Cowboy Christmas Jubilee and beyond.  I enjoyed the bantering between this couple, definitely loved the pig (and you will love this scene stealing beauty contestant, too).  Charlie is as down home Texas as you can get, and it’s a bit of fun watching this couple fall.  Beck’s dad is a piece of work, and I was glad to see the back end of that jerk.  Lots of interesting secondary characters that I’m hoping to learn more about over this series.  In all, I had a great time, it’s a charming story and I’d recommend this debut story to any Contemporary Romance reader who loves a good romance, and laugh out loud moments along the way.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*
