India isn’t so sure herself how she ended up at the wrong place at the wrong time. Until her memories return, how can she possibly move on with her life? The police say she’s innocent, but too many questions linger.
Desperate to get away, she seizes Lucas’ offer, never expecting to fall in love with him. Or that he would be keeping secrets that could not only break her heart, but cost her life.
Read on for my thoughts on Chasing Memories. No true spoilers, promise.
His beloved grandmother is dead. India was at the wheel of the car. She has amnesia, or so she claims. Lucas wants answers. And he is not above using lies, deceit or attraction to get the answers he needs.
How can parts of your life simply be wiped away? She’s been told that the accident wasn’t her fault, but until she remembers what happened she will always blame herself. And she doesn’t realize that the man who offers her a new start, the man she’s falling for fast is weaving a web of lies all around her in the hopes of her “slipping” in her memories… and coming clean as the person who stole his grandmother’s life.
Chasing Memories is a fast paced romance with a lot of suspense and mystery tossed in to the mix. With an intriguing cast of characters, which any one of them “could” be the one who took a woman’s life – this is a story that will keep you focused, and bring a few surprises along the way.
How can you trust someone who has done little but lie to you? As India begins to regain bits and pieces of her memory her life is now in danger. And the one man she believed would protect her and love her has betrayed her feelings for him at the most base level. Where is there any future in a love created in deceit and half truths?
I’m usually pretty good at figuring out the “Who dun it” mysteries, but this one had me guessing my choice right up to the ending. If you love romance and enjoy mysteries as well as putting puzzles together to form a whole picture – then you’ll love Chasing Memories.
*I received an e-ARC of Chasing Memories from the publisher, Samhain Publishing and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. That does not change what I think of this novel.*
