But what about desire?
When security expert Ty Colton is assigned to protect a young heiress, he doesn’t know what to expect.
Turns out that Ashley Hart is a committed philanthropist with a real target on her back. She’s earned a very dangerous enemy, and Ty’s sense of duty takes over.

Colton Storm Warning is the fourth title in the Coltons of Kansas multi-author series that packs an emotional punch as Ty and Ashley set off sparks between them for so many reasons – one being that she’s in danger, two being that Ty is in danger of falling for his client, and three, well, that’s figuring out exactly who is out to harm Ashley.
While the danger is quite real, throughout the early part of Colton Storm Warning that danger is implied, is felt, is suspected but not yet acted upon which leads to ‘waiting for the other shoe to fall’ feeling as Tyler and Ashley are discovering their attraction to each other, that their differences aren’t that far apart, and perhaps there is something going on here between them that needs to be addressed. The heavy, physical threats and actions come in the last half of the story but the groundwork is so well laid that I was on edge waiting for “something” to happen throughout this story. And when it did, it hit hard with not only human actions but nature’s as well.
On the surface, Ty and Ashley may appear to be quite different in their outlooks on life, but as we get to know them (and they to know each other) those differences aren’t all that far apart. I enjoyed their banter and their interactions on every level. Colton Storm Warning is a tight story, engaging and suspenseful – something I expect from Justine Davis, and she delivered big time.
If you love a really good Romantic Suspense that will keep you on your toes waiting for the obvious danger to strike, plus a couple who will capture your imagination then this story or this entire series is right up your alley. I had a blast, and now I’m diving into the next installment of the Coltons of Kansas series.
I own a Kindle edition of Colton Storm Warning.
