I’ve loved the Holiday, Texas series so much – and I’ve been waiting for Dixie’s story because I knew it was going to be explosive with her personality and one unique honky-tonk that takes on a life of its own. I was not wrong, I adored COWBOY CHARMING and it was everything I’d hoped for and then some. Dixie and Presley may seem like total opposites on the surface, but it’s in the heart where that silliness never exists that they finally come together for a lifetime kind of love.
When Presley, the town flirt and all-around charmer finally falls it’s for a woman who shies away from giving him any more than his drink order at the Rambling Rose honky-tonk. But fate works magic in odd ways when she’s asking him for tips on catching a realtor’s eye with the plan to keep him away from gobbling up the town. Overseeing the newly established Chili Cook-Off that has to be tended to when Charlie heads out of town on an emergency will also put them together more than Dixie is used to or comfortable with. Add to the mix a bit of a shove from well-meaning family and you’ll find two people working together for a common cause, and maybe letting down barriers, and letting someone in along the way.
I had fun watching these two people fall. In a town full of quirky, adorable, and sometimes prickly characters this is one of those let loose, lean back and enjoy the ride kind of Romances. If you love when opposites attract, a smoldering slow burn that turns reluctant friends into something so much more inticing – then you’ll love COWBOY CHARMING. I’d definitely recommend this one to any reader who craves a good love story, interesting characters, the feel of a small town with all its quirks and two people who simply work well as a couple.
