Can the twisted road to redemption lead to love?

Jethro Hansen knows how it feels to let down those he loves. Before his grandfather passed, he tried to make amends for his wild youth and has devoted his future to bringing the family ranch back to financial health. The last thing the confirmed bachelor expects is to stand in as a labor coach for his attorney, and enemy’s wife. Even more awkward, the attentive and attractive woman at the expectant mother’s side is making it nearly impossible to keep his focus on his ranch and family legacy.

Sadie St. Martin interned in Denver for Layla Cox and followed her to Marietta, Montana, to run her law practice while she’s on maternity leave. Sadie has some major decisions to make about her future and they become even tougher after she helps Layla through labor alongside a sexy, confident cowboy who is also a client.

Sadie’s fought hard for her career. Jethro is everything she shouldn’t want, but can this big city girl’s head overrule her heart in small-town Montana?

COWBOY TO THE RESCUE is Ann B. Harrison’s kick off story in her The Hansen Brothers series set in Marietta, Montana.  There is just something about a bad boy working to turn his life around and become a man his grandfather could have been proud of that draws me into the story every single time.  Jethro is no exception to that apparent need of mine for a reformed bad boy.  Although Jethro and his brothers were indeed some hellraisers in their youth, and maybe the other boys still are in some ways, that isn’t going to stop Jethro from doing his best to make his grandfather’s ranch viable once again.  Unfortunately, a reputation like the Hansen brothers have isn’t easily changed in the views of the people of Marietta overnight.  It’s going to take some hard work, changed attitudes and patience on his part to get others to see his desire to keep his grandfather’s legacy alive.  But this is one determined man who just got the jolt of his life when meeting Sadie in his lawyer’s office.  This is a woman who could further change his life… if he can convince her to take a chance on a reformed bad boy and stay.

Sadie is the daughter of wealthy, politically inclined parents.  She’s always followed a path that they approved of, never veering from what she saw as expected of her.  Yet, her decision to come to Marietta, Montana to help her friend and former boss during her maternity leave might be the first step off of that path.  Being attracted to a client is another, but Jethro brings out wants in Sadie that she never knew she had.  She took this job not only to help Layla but to figure out her own future moves… maybe she’s found that answer in one reformed bad boy cowboy who sees who she could be if she lets herself veer from that path into their future.

I enjoyed COWBOY TO THE RESCUE on many levels… except there isn’t much Marietta in a Marietta, Montana based story, but frankly, I always find that in this author’s stories.  Not intended as a rude comment, simply an observation.  Jethro and Sadie couldn’t be more opposite in many things if they tried, yet they do have things that bind them and that shows.  They worked as a couple, believable and relatable. I liked them, and as the series continues I hope to get some updates on them as well as the other brothers’ stories.  If you enjoy anything remotely related to one amazing small town in Montana, love those opposites attract stories that feed your emotions or simply love a good cowboy romance then you’ll enjoy this one.  I’m definitely looking forward to the rest of this series, and would not hesitate to recommend this one to any Romance reader.
