Ex-Navy SEAL Cabe Moss always comes when called to duty―at all costs. Even though the death of his fiancée nearly destroyed him, Cabe won’t let his past interfere with any work that has to get done. When his latest task pushes him to team up with FBI Agent Amy Murray, a fierce beauty with the undercover skills to match, Cabe must admit that, for the first time in years, he wants to do more than just complete their mission together…

Amy was born ready for this assignment, but working side-by-side with the the strong, silent, and frustratingly professional Cabe seems to be the biggest challenge of all. But when the sparks begin to fly―and the stakes rise to dangerous heights―the only thing Amy is left worrying about is how she can resist him. Their lives may be in danger, but their hearts hold the biggest risk of all…

Deep Cover brings a strong, still grieving warrior together with another strong, determined professional to bring down one of the most loathsome criminal operations imaginable.  As a partner, with his two friends Six and Mac, Caleb is used to dealing with the scum of the earth and he does it well.  His work drives him in many ways as he is still grieving the death, on the job, of a woman he’d planned to spend the rest of his life with.  Now there is only that empty spot where she once was and the job.  That is until Amy joined this case, then everything changed and Cabe wasn’t always the smoothest in his reactions to a woman who is starting to mean more than he ever thought he’d allow himself to feel again.  It doesn’t help that they’re both working the same op, that she’s deep undercover and that all of his fears about her safety have to be battled once again.  In fact, Amy is quite capable of looking out for herself.  She’s smart, fierce in the battles to come, has her own type of cunning to work this op and in reality finds Cabe very frustrating, and sexy if she’s honest with herself.  They have a job to do, villains to conquer… and maybe the chance for a lifetime to share, if they survive.

If you love fast action, a satisfying puzzle to take apart and solve, and the mysteries of why one person can matter so much to another… then you’ll love Deep Cover.  While I don’t believe you “have” to have read Under Fire or Final Siege to enjoy Deep Cover it certainly does put a very satisfying ending on this series.  And besides, they are all amazing stories in their own right, so if you get the chance then I would recommend reading them in order.  I admit to hoping to see more from the Eagle Securities team one day.

Amy and Cabe work, there is just no other way to say it.  Yes, Cabe is still grieving, yet Amy is able to get him feeling again, to see that life didn’t end for him (as harsh as that may sound) when the woman he loved died.  There is still a chance at happiness for him with Amy, he simply has to be ready and willing to accept and act on that.  The suspense is strong, the action fast and the ending… just right.  I enjoyed myself in this world and would definitely recommend Deep Cover to any Romantic Suspense reader.
