FeatureFollowParaAlisonThe Feature & Follow is hosted by TWO hosts, Parajunkee of Parajunkee’s View and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it’ll allow us to show off more new blogs!

This week’s feature blog is:  My Bookish Itinerary

Today’s Question up for discussion is:

Do you read more than 1 book at a time, and if so, how, like a certain amount of pages per book before moving on to the next one in the queue? – via Words I Write Crazy

My Answer:  I usually have 3 books going.  One on my Kindle, which is usually e-ARCs.  One on my Kindle App for the PC because I have tons of Kindle free books on that app that thankfully did not load over on my new Kindle…gotta get that TBR of Kindle books cleared up.  And I always have one book, real physical book to hold and read.  They are never the same genre though.  I love so many different styles of novels.  So I will have a Contemporary on one, a Historical on another and a Paranormal/Fantasy/YA on the other.  How much do I read of each?  It totally depends on my mood (or a review deadline).  I might start out in old time London, spinning through a young woman’s First Season and in the evening be deep in the darkest night with a vampire hunter hot on my trail.  Mood reading is my downfall.

Now it’s time to get following – hope you find awesome new blogs today.  :)

    Hi Kirsty,

My list at NetGalley just has to come down.- I need that to be more namageable for deadlines on releases. So it’s going to be many books at once for me til I get the TBRs under control.

Totally understand saying trying to say no — it rarely works for me 🙂

Thanks for the visit, and for the follow. (returned the follow)

      Hi Monique,

I love my Kindle – but there is nothing like a paperback. 🙂

Thanks for visiting and the follow. 🙂

  2. I wish I could do three books at once, but I lose my focus to easily. Maybe one day! Thank you for stopping by. 🙂

      Hi Jess,

I want to get back to one book at a time – maybe in 6 months or so. *fingers crossed*

      Thanks for visiting 🙂

      Hi,

It lets me jump between stories easier if they are of different genres, I don’t confuse the stories so much

      Thanks for visiting 🙂

  3. I tried to do the whole reading an eBook on my computer thing and I just couldn’t commit to it, because I didn’t like being tied down to just one spot for hours at a time. So, that’s why I invested in the Kindle, which allows me to be pretty much anywhere with it and I like curling up on my pillow with my sweet little baby dog, a ton of pillows, and a warm throw. 🙂

Happy Reading and Hopping Through!!! <3
    Have a fantastic weekend! 🙂

      Hi Suz,

Oh I agree totally. For some reason my Kindle PC app books did not transfer over to my new Kindle… so if I’m going to read those books I’m stuck in one place.

      Thanks for visiting

  4. Excellent point! I think mine are usually not the same genre too. Sometimes they are, but usually I try to read different books that are different genres at the same time. I also tend to read different formats at the same time. I have been trying to stick to 2 books at a time (one ebook & one physical).
Thanks for stopping by my blog!

      Hi Stephanie,

It’s a formula that works for me right now. Kindle for the NetGalley reads and physical for the others… with a Kindle PC app tossed in every now and then. I cannot wait to get caught up – if I ever do the way I keep adding to the TBR pile. 😉

      Hi Tracy,

I don’t know about awesome. Determined to get that danged TBR pile at a more manageable level is more like it. 😉

Thanks for visiting and for the follow.

      Hi Teresa,

I find I don’t catch details as easily when listening to novels. I’ve tried it, but it just doesn’t work for me. But it obviously works great for you. 🙂

  5. 3 books at a time! That is amazing!! (: Maybe one day I will be able to read 2 books at a time. Haha!

      Hi Pearl,

It’s more like 2, with a 3rd one tossed in now and then. I want to go back to the days of reading just one book at a time. Once the NetGalley offerings are not back-logged and the TBR is more manageable – that is a goal. If only I would stop adding books to the TBR lol

      Thanks for stopping by 🙂

  6. Wow you must be very talented to read that many books at once. I can only manage one at a time. I try to read more than one book at a time but I get so caught up in one book I finish and then start the next one. Thank you for sharing.

      Hi Sharrice,

I don’t know about talented. Maybe determined to get caught up. I wish I could just wipe my TBR pile and be current, but unread stories – I just can’t do it. lol

      Thanks for visiting.

    Hi Brooke,

I sort of balked at taking notes on fiction at first. But it doesn’t interrupt as much as I was afraid it would – and does it ever come in handy. 😉 It is so much easier to flip back through a physical book than it is on a Kindle. I honestly do not think I could read more than one novel at a time if I didn’t switch to a different genre.

I’m an old follower of your blog 🙂
