Jenna Snyder has finally gotten her life back together. She’s left her shattered heart behind and is quite content being the caretaker to a flirtatious geriatric man. In between his daily marriage proposals and in-home nurse visits, she manages to relax and ease her mind at her potter’s wheel. The only thing holding her back from finding true happiness is the painful memories from her past that can never be erased. She wants to leave them behind, and that includes Tristan. It doesn’t matter that he’s smart and successful and sexy. Or that he’s the sweetest man she’s ever met. He destroyed her world and tore her heart into a million pieces and that can never be forgiven.
Tristan Ketch never thought his catering business would have him pairing his food with a small town winery in Crystal Cove, Maine. Or that he’d run into the woman he once loved. Hell, the woman he still loves. He regrets the way they ended, and he’ll do anything to make things right with her now. But first he needs to regain her trust, and that means doing everything in his power to make sure she never discovers the truth…the real reason behind what ripped them apart.
Title: Finding Our Way Back
Series: Well Paired #5

Genre: Contemporary Romance

My Rating: 4.5 stars
FINDING OUR WAY BACK is the fifth title in Marianne Rice’s Well Paired series. It is a heartwrenching story of loss, unsuccessfully trying to move on from a tragedy that no one should ever have to face, and eventual understanding, forgiveness, even a second chance to get it right. It will gut you, and put you back together again.
And, because life happened for me and I was unable to get all the stories read before this newest release I can quite frankly say that you could read Jenna and Tristan’s story as a standalone. Because I was able to flow right back into this world without trouble. I will be catching up on the parts of this series that I haven’t yet read because I want to know what happened not because I feel I have to in order to “get” Jenna and Tristain’s relationship. I’ve enjoyed this world and want to understand the other stories, the other people that I haven’t met properly just yet.
Without giving away spoilers I can say that every situation has at least two sides, sometimes more, and without knowing everything our choices are often different without all that we need to know. Jenna has a circle of friends now, a new focus in caring for an endearing older man who is facing the final stage of his life, and suddenly the man who she once loved with everything she had to give, and the man who brought her such unbearable pain is in town and back in her life. I found Jenna’s reactions as realistic for what she and Tristan have gone through together and separately. There are moments when the sadness will break your heart, and others when hope for a different future soar. So, perhaps the gambit of emotions is the best way to describe FINDING OUR WAY BACK.
This is an emotional story, one that I would not hesitate to recommend to any Romance reader who enjoys stories where a couple is not picture-perfect but human in every way. One that will touch your heart, and maybe make you think a bit.
