He’s her darkest fantasy
After years of struggling, Haven Daly has finally accepted that she’s nuttier than a fruitcake. Why else would she see visions of a beautiful but tormented male every night . . . and actually believe she can talk to him, even feel his touch?  But thanks to those dream journeys, she can paint images nobody else on earth can duplicate. In each brushstroke, she captures the blatant masculinity and raw desire in his eyes that promise he’s coming for her…and soon.

She’s the light that keeps him going

Quade Kayrs has already suffered a lifetime of pain and torture. Completely isolated, he kept his sanity thanks to one beautiful female, a vision with kind emerald eyes. In the end, her soft voice led him out of hell. Now, naked and alone, he’s in a strange world that bears little resemblance to the one he left behind. All he knows is Haven.  All he wants is Haven.  His final mission? To protect her from the evil hunting them both—whether she likes it or not.

Title:  Hero’s Haven
Series:  Dark Protectors #11
Author:  Rebecca Zanetti
Genre:  Paranormal Romance
Published:  January 21, 2020
Publisher:  Kensington Books
My Rating:  4 stars

We’ve met Quade and Haven in previous books from the Dark Protectors series, now we finally get their story in Hero’s Haven and it was well worth the anticipation and the wait.  They’ve been aware of each other, in different ways, for a very long time now.  It’s time for them to meet in person and let destiny take over for Haven isn’t as crazy as she’s been lead to believe her entire life, and Quade is not as alone as he thinks.

Hero’s Haven can be intense, it can also be soft and tender depending on the people and the circumstances.  Finally seeing Quade and Haven together it’s possible to feel the connection between them from the start, one that goes deeper on a different level for they’ve both been through their individual Hells now it’s time to fight together for the greatest prize of all – each other for a lifetime.

It would be tempting to say too much and give away spoilers, so I’m going to simply say that Hero’s Haven, was all that I wanted it to be and so much more.  Their worlds have finally met and watching them fall for each other, face every difficulty and challenge together kept me flipping pages far beyond my bedtime.  I, frankly, don’t think you can read this series out of order and “get” it all, the nuances, the connections – that’s my opinion.  But if you don’t know the series then this one would be enough to entice you to check out the Dark Protectors from their beginning.  I enjoyed being back in their world so much.  I’d not hesitate a second in recommending this story (or the entire series) to any reader who loves a really good Paranormal/Suspense/Romance story, enjoys watching a couple find their way to each other, needs fast-paced action and villains to detest, and at the end simply loves falling into a world until it becomes real to you.  Yeah, this series is all that and more.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story.   It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*
