She came to the beach to write…
But she’s getting distracted by the surfer next door.

Jenna, a single mom as well as a successful author has five weeks to deliver her next young adult novel to the publisher. This year’s summer getaway with her kids will be a working vacation.

The only problem? Lucas, the devil-may-care surfer in the beach rental next to hers. He cranks up his music at night, hosts loud volleyball matches, and allows his dog to run around at will.

Jenna often blames him for her writer’s block. But before long, she begins to see a new side of her neighbor at the shore. Maybe opposites do attract…but will that attraction fade like a sunset once summer is gone?

Title:  Love at the Shore
Series:
Author:  Teri Wilson
Genre:  Contemporary Romance

Publisher:  Hallmark Publishing
My Rating:  4 stars

I was easily engaged in LOVE AT THE SHORE.  Take one uptight newish author who is on a tight deadline to finish up a sequel, a couple of kids with minds of their own on summer vacation, one man who won’t be tied down or lose his lifestyle and one rambunctious, adorable dog and you had me at the first line.  Moving from enemies to lovers is probably the best trope description for this story but there are layers to both Jenna and Lucas that aren’t shown in the best light at their first meeting.  A reminder to not judge a book by its cover is also rather obvious with this couple.

Five weeks at the beach to write, relax, give her kids a great summer and maybe fall in love with the sexy, at times infuriating man next door are Jenna’s plans.  Now if only the “write and relax” part could become a reality.

I had fun with LOVE AT THE SHORE, it’s perfect for the beach or back porch romance filled with interesting characters and a pup who has gone a bit crazy or maybe always was.  I often imagined Tank doing zoomies on the beach – that’s what mine would have been doing.  In the mood for a good summer romance?  Then you’ll want all the feels from this one.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story.  It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*
