One night. One too many drinks. One mistake. That’s all it took to derail my marriage.

Now, all I can do is beg for a second chance. To try and redeem myself in a bid not to lose the love of my life.

I’m determined to use every second, every moment I have to show my wife how much she means to me—to rebuild the trust I shattered.

But the harder I try, the more I start to realize our marriage had fallen into a routine of complacency and misplaced priorities long before my indiscretion.

Isabelle is a strong, passionate, beautiful woman—a wife who has sacrificed so much for me. I just hope it’s not too late for us, and that I’ll be able to convince her that our love is meant to be kept.

MEANT TO BE KEPT is a story with many layers, some beyond sad, others the height of happiness.  But throughout it all, there is a base, a core love between Tanner and Belle.  Oh, it’s been shaken, and maybe neglected a bit as life took over from the initial thrill of the romance part, but the love is still there fighting to overcome what has happened.  Fighting to find a way back, even when neither thought that could be possible, it was still there in words, actions, and memories of a life together.

Now, I’m not saying that Tanner is blameless, yet I’ve read enough rodeo/cowboy romances to recognize a buckle-bunny when I “see” one.  So, while I’m not going to give away the story, I might have had an easier time being willing to “listen” to Tanner throughout their story.  What Tanner was to blame for was letting his life with Belle and their twins fall into the routine of life.  Of maybe spending too much time building the company, too little time making time for the small things that were done when they first started.  And… to be fair, Belle was to blame for those very same reasons.

The person I really wanted to give a boot to the butt was Wyatt – and I’m really hoping he has a rough time of it when it’s time for his romance story to come along.  Karma, gotta love karma.

Belle’s and Tanner’s story is told in dual timelines – one from this moment when everything hit the fan and they had to get through it or leave it all, and the time before when they first started and their lives together up to this moment of reality.  We learn a lot of Belle’s background during that earlier time and why she reacted as she did.  Tanner is head over heels in love with his wife and it shows in his desperation to do anything and everything to save their marriage.

Amelia Foster delivers a smoothly flowing story that truly is a slice of life romance.  No one is perfect, everyone has flaws, makes mistakes, and deserves forgiveness and a second chance.  Love isn’t easy, it’s hard work to keep that feeling alive without allowing it to fall to the side as life takes over.  We were shown all of that and more in MEANT TO BE KEPT.

If you love a good romance where no one is perfect, there is more to the story than the couple really knows, a second chance, or a love that shines off of each and every page – then you’ll want to pick up MEANT TO BE.  I’m hooked on this series, and on this author and I can’t wait to continue with this family of brothers and see what mischief is in store for the rest of the guys.
