She pretends to be a princess at children’s parties.
But can she melt a real prince’s frosty heart?
“I’m Prince Nikolas of San Glacera. Oh, you’ve never heard of us? Well, you’re not the only one. Our country relies on winter tourism, but we’re attracting fewer and fewer visitors. I admit it’s a problem. I just don’t think the solution is an American who likes to play dress-up.
You see, while I was away on a trip, my younger sister convinced the palace to hold a contest. The winner gets to star in our annual Ice Village festivities and accompany our royal family to holiday events.
And who did they choose? Gracie Clark, who runs a children’s party business and performs as—I kid you not—‘Princess Snowflake.’
Of course, I do respect the fact that she volunteers at children’s hospitals. I suppose to some, she might have a certain charm… But the whole cheap spectacle is beneath our dignity.
I’m not going to shirk my duty to my kingdom. I’ll go to every event with her. At least, once Christmas is over, she’ll be gone…”

Title: Once Upon a Royal Christmas

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Publisher: Hallmark Publishing
My Rating: 4
I smiled my way through Once Upon a Royal Christmas and enjoyed every single cheesy, over-the-top, funny, frustrating, entertaining moment of my time in this Hallmark romance.
Gracie needs funds for the party planning business she owns with her friend, but no bank is willing to touch this small business with a loan. So, luck would have it that there’s a contest happening with the grand prize being just about what she was hoping for in a business loan. She never expected to actually win but certainly won’t turn down the prize money… it’s the trip to this small country and a very grumpy prince that has her uneasy. But, this is what she does, pretends to be a princess to get the job done. Surely she can put up with one prince who thinks she’s a bit ridiculous for long enough to fulfill her part of this winning moment.
I had fun watching one grumpy prince and one sunshine princess discover that pretend can eventually lead to a love to last a lifetime. This story is everything you’d wish for in a Hallmark movie, a funny, entertaining romance surrounded by the magic of Christmas. I can read a Holiday romance any time of the year; if you can as well then you’ll love Gracie and Nikolas’ romantic adventure… or set it aside until the Christmas season comes around again. Either way you’ll find a delightful love story to enjoy.
