There’s nothing like a Christmas wedding to warm a girl’s heart—or to distract everyone else from the fact that one particular bridesmaid intends to quickly skip town. Julia Noble’s accident was years ago, and she’s tired of being overprotected. She needs to be on her own. But before she flees Aspen, Colorado, Julia wants to make sure her brother has the perfect wedding and all her ducks are in a row. Yet duty soon turns to pleasure when three days before the big day Julia runs into the only man she ever dreamed of marrying.
Fresh out of the navy, Isaac Nash just wants to feel normal again. But starting his new life means winning back the girl who captured his heart years ago. Isaac didn’t know the truth behind the tragedy that changed Julia’s life forever, and he can’t stop blaming himself for not being there for her. After all this time, he knows that Julia is what he wants, this and every Christmas. Now Isaac just has to convince her that she’s earned a miracle, too.
Read on for my thoughts on One Christmas Wish. No true spoilers, promise.
If you are looking for a Christmas romance that is guaranteed to hit you right in the feels… then you’re going to want to go pick up One Christmas Wish.
Julia and Isaac have a history of attraction and caring for each other. For reasons known only to Isaac, he stepped away. His twelve years away in the Navy have redefined the man Isaac became, but nothing can ever change how he feels about Julia. He’s heading home with the intent of winning the girl of his dreams – but that might be a bit more complicated than he imagined.
Julia has her bid for freedom all planned out. She’s finally ready to follow her dream for independence from her loving, overprotective family. It would be a perfect world if she could tell them what she’s planning – but reality is a far different beast. The last thing she expected to discover right before her plan came together was to see Isaac again. She’d loved him long ago and then he left. He left before the accident that changed her life forever.
Second chances, could she really believe that Isaac could be that man who would love her just as she is, without trying to change her or do absolutely everything for her. Is it possible for love to have lived hidden in hearts for over a decade? One Christmas Wish will answer those questions and so much more.
I enjoyed Julia and Isaac’s romance very much. She is a very strong woman who has had to face a reality that was not her life plan. She is intelligent, snarky at times and really needs for her family to let her go and live her life. No one can change what happened. But everyone can and should allow her to know her own independence. Isaac is that man who once he loves its for life.. no matter what life tosses at him. His determination to have Julia be in his life, at his side for their lifetime is such a powerful, emotional experience to read.
One Christmas Wish is a story that you will want to put on your annual Christmas reading list.
