Operation Valentine begins the Hazel Oaks Resort series with a delightful romance that’s full of charm and giggle-out-loud moments throughout.  But I expect nothing less when these two authors get together to bring us into their world.

Natalie and Hudson are slightly different in the opposites attract type of couple.  While Nat was an Army brat and spent her childhood on the move all she wants now is to settle in with deep roots and a job that she loves, and stay in one place.  Hudson’s childhood was regulated by military boarding school and he’s all about the freedom to pick up and move to the next exciting place when the whim hits.

But that may be changing as Hudson has been challenged, along with Nat, to bring the sparkle back to an older couple’s marriage before they head for divorce.  While helping one couple to realize they still love each other – perhaps Nat and Hudson are about to discover that there are no rules when love comes along before their own romantic beginning runs into trouble.

I enjoyed Operation Valentine.  We get two romances, one beginning and another reminded of why they loved each other to begin with.  Even though Hudson is all about freedom and Nat is all about lists and schedules, they worked as a couple slowly discovering that love is worth the risks and the changes necessary to keep that love alive.

With secondary characters that I want to see have their own happy ending, the Hazel Oaks Resort is a series that I’ll be following for now I need to know what comes next.  If you’re in the mood to see love at both ends of a relationship and to watch love be rekindled for one couple and discovered for another, then you’ll want to pick up Operation Valentine any time of the year.
