Marcie Latimer longs to run away from Someday Valley—especially since her ex-boyfriend spun a web of lies that almost led to tragedy in neighboring Honey Creek. Little wonder so many locals have turned their backs on her. But not Brand Rodgers. The quiet cowboy comes to listen every time she sings at Bandit’s Bar, offering a glimpse of safety and calm that Marcie’s rarely known.
After Texas Ranger Colby McBride saved Honey Creek’s mayor, Piper Mackenzie, from a fire, she claimed him with a kiss. That was five months ago, and Colby still isn’t sure where they’re headed. Piper loves her town—but does she love Colby? And is he even ready for what comes next?
Pecos Smith, Honey Creek’s emergency dispatcher, is grateful to have a new bride he adores and a baby on the way—even if one vital piece of the puzzle is missing. But as trouble comes stalking through the valley, lives will cross surprising paths. And Marcie, who’s always felt that a forever love was out of reach, might discover that Someday is the perfect place to find it . . .

Picnic in Someday Valley continues the Honey Creek series with more about the couples we fell in love with during Breakfast at the Honey Cafe plus a bit more for other residents of this unique small town. I’ll always recommend reading in order if you can for any series, yet the Honey Creek series does build on what happened in the previous story (stories) so that’s just a tidbit of information that you can do what you wish with, you won’t be lost but you will understand what happened a bit better, in my opinion.
In some ways, my heart broke for several residents, Marcie in particular. She had the bad luck of falling for a jerk who did major damage and she’s still paying, in some ways, for his actions. Yet, it was such fun watching her learn how to defend herself while falling for the man who would keep her safe if she’d allow it. Other relationships are going through road bumps along the way and one lesson learned the hard way is talking to each other, listening as well is just as important as the sizzle in the sheets. And young love is overshadowed by a new baby and impossible schedules as two young lovers find their way a bit closer to each other through the tough, exhausting hours. Oh, and the dream lovers… I cannot wait for this romance to really explode.
Yep, vague bits and pieces of the stories within Picnic in Someday Valley… but this one will be better enjoyed if you experience it firsthand for yourself. I love this author and her storytelling style – you’ll get all you need, a few happy for now endings, some mystery, a whole lot of love going on in this small town with couples you cannot help but cheer on as they work their ways to those happy endings. I had a blast back in this world, and if you love a good romance with interesting people and unusual circumstances, then you’ll want to pick this one up, soon.
