When scholarly Miss Ivy Wareham receives word that she’s one of four young ladies who have inherited Lady Celeste Beauchamp’s estate with a magnificent private library, she packs her trunks straightaway. Unfortunately, Lady Celeste’s nephew, the rakish Quill Beauchamp, Marquess of Kerr, is determined to interrupt her studies one way or another…
Bequeathing Beauchamp House to four bluestockings—no matter how lovely they are to look at—is a travesty, and Quill simply won’t have it. But Lady Celeste’s death is not quite as straightforward as it first seemed…and if Quill hopes to solve the mystery behind her demise, he’ll need Ivy’s help. Along the way, he is surprised to learn that bookish Ivy stirs a passion and longing that he has never known. This rogue believes he’s finally met his match—but can Quill convince clever, skeptical Ivy that his love is no fiction?

Welcome to Beauchamp House where for the next year four intelligent ladies will be given the dream opportunity of studying their chosen field… and perhaps fall in love as well.
I adored Ready Set Rogue and I’m definitely looking forward to the rest of this series. Four intelligent, charming women have the use of a beautiful estate for a year to study what their heart desires… unheard of in this time period. And they will definitely take full advantage of this surprising gift from Lady Celeste.
However, Lady Celeste’s nephew, Quill doesn’t quite see it in the same light and strongly suspects that these so called ladies have tricked his beloved aunt into some grand scheme. One stubborn, arrogant yet handsome rogue is about to learn a few lessons from the best teacher of all – the woman he never expected to fall in love with, and one of those so called ladies.
Ivy suspects that Lady Celeste was murdered. Oh, she’s greatly indebted by the generous gift of a year to study her passion, but something is not quite right about all of this. She needs some help in solving this mystery and who better than the annoying nephew who she doesn’t want to be attracted to in the least – but we don’t always get what we think we want.
Secondary characters matter to me and Ready Set Rogue gave me a lot to look forward to in the rest of this series. All of our bluestocking ladies are interesting, even when the focus was on Ivy for this story. There are suspects galore and a few twists that will keep you guessing right up until the reveal.
I liked Ivy and Quill as a couple, yes there were tensions at first but soon their natural attraction to each other came forward. Their chemistry and actual like for each other, in addition to their love for each other stole my heart.
I am definitely looking forward to Duke With Benefits coming to us in June 2017.
