I knew that giving in to Vincent Sorenson was a risk, but it was one I was willing to take. I had hidden my heart for so long and for the first time in a long time, Vincent was close to breaking down the walls.
When a trip to Vincent’s exclusive private island reveals the real Vincent underneath the layers of suave nonchalance, I thought we were close to the start of something special.
Just when things were looking up for us, I would discover the one secret that Vincent never intended for me to find.
Read on for my thoughts on Secret Surrender. No true spoilers, promise.
Secret Surrender picks up exactly where Forbidden Surrender left us in, if not an actual cliffhanger very close to one. The three novellas could probably have been put together in one larger novel, and I have to admit that I would have enjoyed this story more that way… but, it wasn’t my choice, which is why I planned in advance to read them back to back.
The second story reads much more like erotica than the first one did Yes, there was sex in the first – but not like this one. Vincent and Kristen’s second story is full of mind-blowing, soul-wrenching, exquisitely sinful sex. Adored it. The relationship is getting deeper and we are learning more about Vincent and his history. An unfortunate incident from his past upsets Kristen, and soon the green eyed monster is seeing trouble everywhere that there isn’t…yet, but there will if she keeps this up I’m sure.
And of course, after several weeks of blissfulness, an extra long business trip that separates our lovers, there is an argument, a misunderstanding and the suspicion of… well, let’s just say I had hoped to not see that used here but we shall see.
We leave this installment of the Surrender series as Kristen finally throws open her apartment door to the person pounding on it thinking to confront Vincent… but it’s not him.
I enjoyed Secret Surrender, it definitely moved an engaging story further along. And now to move on to the concluding novel. Since this one is much more sex filled than the first I must let those readers that do not necessarily enjoy erotica know that you will find some smokin’ hot sex scenes. Definitely recommend this continuing novella to those who love their couples hot and sexy, knowing there is love yet to be discovered. It’s a very good middle book that leads us to the final story in this series.
*I received an e-ARC of Secret Surrender from the publisher and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. That does not change what I think of this novel.*
~Any review is just one person’s opinion. You might feel the same or totally different. The only way to know for certain is for you to read it. This was my opinion of this particular book.~
