Read on for my thoughts on Walker Pride.  No true spoilers, promise.

Sometimes when you get the chance to read the first story in a new series you discover a storyline that is rich in details, full of characters that you’d like to get to know better and a basic story that gives many possible story branches out from the main story.  Such is the new series, The Walker Family by Bernadette Marie.

We are introduced to the Walker family through the oldest brother’s story.  Eric Walker is a 40 year old loner, the elder of his half-brothers, a rancher who boards horses on his land.  Eric’s grandfather has died, and with his death a full can of worms has been released.  When the entire family gathers for the reading of the will, secrets will be revealed that will change everyone’s life.

Susan has started her own catering business after leaving an abusive marriage.  She’s looking for a fresh start, but today finds herself setting up the food for the Walker family’s reading of the will.  She first meets Eric as he sneaks snack off of her trays in the family kitchen.  Light conversation is enough to set off a few interesting moments of what if’s kind of thinking.  And later in the day Susan will offer help to a family member in need – which will bring her in closer contact with Eric and the attraction building between them.

Walker Pride is such a detailed, rich and intriguing start to a series that I plan on following.  We will meet every member of the immediate family and a few surprises along the way.  There is a family feud and a personal obsession to deal with as well as falling in love with that person each has waited to find.

Every character within this first novel is worthy of their own story, and I fully expect to be captivated by many more Walkers along the way.  This was an excellent introduction story, we got to meet many of the family members as well as followed along as Eric finally found the woman of his dreams.  I would highly recommend Walker Pride as a very good novel in itself and an amazing start to a series that holds the promise of more great stories to come.

*I received an e-ARC of Walker Pride from the publisher and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. That does not change what I think of this novel.*

*Any review is just one person’s opinion. You might feel the same or totally different. The only way to know for certain is for you to read it. This was my opinion of this particular book.*

Walker Pride is available for the Kindle
