My Rating:  4.5 stars

Synopsis:

Nexi Jones has lost her family, she’s been stripped of her guardian duties, and she’s still learning the ins and outs of white magic. At least she has Kyden, the smoldering hot elite guardian who’s been there for her every step of the way. But just as Nexi completes her training, tragedy strikes the Otherworld when a fellow guardian is murdered by a group of rogue vampires. Ready or not, she and Kyden trek into the Earthworld to hunt down a killer—and Nexi alone will be put to the ultimate test.

Although Kyden knows that Nexi must fight her own battles, his guardian instincts are raging as he struggles to keep her close. The ruthlessness of these vampires is like nothing he’s ever seen. And at their helm is the Black Witch Astoria, a demon with one burning desire: to shed Nexi’s blood in the name of vengeance. What troubles Kyden even more, though, is the warlock who covets Nexi’s heart. Let the devil do his worst . . . all Kyden can do is love and protect Nexi until his last breath.

Read on for my thoughts on Witches Be Burned.  No true spoilers, promise.

Sometimes a couple (fictional couple) comes along and it’s love at first sight for the reader.  We read their story, we ache with them, fear with them. triumph with them and, yes, even fall in love with them.  At the end of the story we mentally kiss them goodbye, thank them for an amazing story ( Werewolves Be Damned ) and leave them safe and sound between the book covers believing in their own personal happily ever after.

Then we open the covers of a new novel, Witches Be Burned, and it’s a reunion – there is more of their story to be told and we get to take part in that amazing experience.

Nexi and Kyden are amazing as individuals, put them together they are awesome.  Nexi is so strong, so powerful and is learning more about her powers every day.  But now she has to be even stronger than she ever imagined she could be.  Evil vampires are gathering on the outskirts of cities, murder has been done not only in bloodlust but cold heartedly as a guardian has been murdered by a group of rogue vampires.  There is a plan behind their ruthless attack, and Nexi and Kyden must get to the bottom of it all.  Kyden is such a warrior, strong, determined – a total Alpha Male, and it’s heart wrenching to watch him have to give the woman he loves the same freedom she allows him – to head into battle knowing that nothing endangers their love for each other and trusting that each one will do all in their powers to remain safe.  A difficult challenge for an Alpha, but one that Kyden accepts – if unwillingly.

The cast is large, and I won’t even begin to explain each person to you.  At the heart of this story are two people who love, desire, trust and would willingly die for each other – but would prefer not to since they have a lot of loving left in them yet.

This is a novel you have to pick up and immerse yourself in.  I could tell you details but you would not experience them and that is where the difference is.  This is one where the reader doesn’t really “have” to love paranormal, the story is rich enough to simply fall into.  So while I do recommend this one for any paranormal romance reader, just about anyone could enjoy this novel.  Witches Be Burned releases May 19, 2015 – go grab your own copy and enjoy.

*I received an e-ARC of Witches Be Burned from the publisher and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. That does not change what I think of this novel.*

~What you, the reader, always must remember is this simple truth. Any review is just one person’s opinion. You might feel the same or totally different. The only way to know for certain if any novel is right for you – is for you to read it. This was my opinion of this particular book.~

Witches Be Burned is available for the Kindle

If you’re interested, the first novel in the series is also on the Kindle
