Ex-Marine Cash Griffith is a beacon for trouble. Working for the family moving company, he does his best to keep a low profile, but he can’t help finishing a fight someone else starts. There’s one person at work who annoys and baffles him. But if he even thought about taking her on, she’d put him down. Hard. Which is a real problem, because Cash wants nothing more than to tangle with sexy Jordan Fleming.
The ex-Army MP has her hands full with her new job and her rebellious teenage brother. Getting him through summer school is a chore. Figuring out what to do with her life now that she’s a civilian is disheartening. But one thing she lives for—doing battle with the obnoxious, arrogant, incredibly hot Marine at work.
Their battles turn into true camaraderie, then into something more. Helping each other out with family problems, Cash and Jordan learn to trust each other. One kiss leads to another, and friendship starts turning to love. But when dangerous secrets come to light, their bond will either break or strengthen into a future they both deserve.

We met Cash and Jordan in THE WHOLE PACKAGE, and at that time I wasn’t sure how I was going to react to Cash’s own story. Yet this bear of a guy, who brawls when needed, isn’t afraid to poke another angry bear of a guy won me over when I got to know more about him. History and the past can mess with a person’s head, and what was done to Cash has had lasting effects. Loved Jordan even more as I got to know her better. Her crashes with her teenage brother were so realistic. The bantering, the giving as good as they get from each other really drew me to this couple and made their story sweet and sizzling sexy at the same moment. Jordan is ex-military, former MP so she knows how to handle herself, and I loved the moments when Cash let her do just that even though he fought against every instinct to just go kick butt himself.
They are so alike on many levels, and like oil and water on another. They are a complex couple brought together in a way that makes sense. They can both be strong on their own, but they’re better and stronger together. I enjoyed seeing the whole crew again and definitely looking forward to the next story which hopefully will bring that secret out into the open for a resolution. You “could” read SMOOTH MOVES on its own and have a very enjoyable experience – personally, I think you’ll understand all of the characters, including these if you can start at the beginning but that’s only my opinion.
*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*
