Books Added to My Shelves This Week

2018 is winding down… but my book pile just keeps growing, and growing.

I picked up the complete (to date) long series Christmas Town, Maine which is an anthology, three book bundles and twelve titles this year.  It’s a huge haul that I won’t take up space to show… but it is a lot of books that I will read throughout the year and review on my Christmas blog – Heart Full of Christmas – during 2019 leading up to next year’s releases.  I am hooked on long series that involve an entire community, it’s like stepping into the lives of Small Town, USA.  The drawback is with so much history, I really need to start at the beginning.  Not every reader needs that… but I do.  Thankfully there were sales and bundles involved in that purchase.  🙂

My other purchase this week is the second story in Nora Roberts’ “The Chronicles of the One” series, entitled “Of Blood and Bone“.

They look like an everyday family living an ordinary life. But beyond the edges of this peaceful farm, unimaginable forces of light and dark have been unleashed.

Fallon Swift, approaching her thirteenth birthday, barely knows the world that existed before—the city where her parents lived, now in ruins and reclaimed by nature since the Doom sickened and killed billions. Traveling anywhere is a danger, as vicious gangs of Raiders and fanatics called Purity Warriors search for their next victim. Those like Fallon, in possession of gifts, are hunted—and the time is coming when her true nature, her identity as The One, can no longer be hidden.

In a mysterious shelter in the forest, her training is about to begin under the guidance of Mallick, whose skills have been honed over centuries. She will learn the old ways of healing; study and spar; encounter faeries and elves and shifters; and find powers within herself she never imagined. And when the time is right, she will take up the sword, and fight. For until she grows into the woman she was born to be, the world outside will never be whole again.

Yes, I’m ready to dive into this world once again.

That’s my haul for the end of 2018.  I wish I could say that I’ll behave in 2019 with less book buying… but we all know that’s not gonna happen.  *grin*

Hope you found some fantastic books to read!

I enjoyed “Year One” so much. I, personally, would move it up your TBR list and then grab the next one that way you continue the overall story in a binge… but that’s me. 🙂 I enjoyed the “end of the world as we know it” feel to this series and how it then moves into what will be a new reality as the series continues. I’m definitely looking forward to starting “Of Blood and Bone”.
