Small town. Big secrets. Welcome to Sweet Ridge, Texas
When the Cooper brothers hear what their father left them in his will, they’re surprised to find that the things closest to their hearts were given to three random women. Gavin Cooper had his heart set on owning the house the family had grown up in, and when his old high school rival inherits it, he’s devastated. But she can’t sell the house for one year, and that’s plenty of time for him to find a way to get it back.
When Macy Young said goodbye to Sweet Ridge and left to pursue fame and fortune, she never thought she’d return. After losing her best friend, Macy went on a downward spiral of pain and shame. Living in the inherited house where she’d spent many happy hours might just soothe her weary soul.
Macy and Gavin will have to find a way to forgive themselves and each other if they’re ever going to be happy. Can this country star and veterinarian forget their pasts and start a life together?

We begin the Sweet Texas Secrets multi-author trilogy with Sweet Texas Kiss which is Macy and Gavin’s story. Two people who find themselves in a place neither expected themselves to ever be, but both hurting for different reasons and trying to reconcile the past with their future.., whatever that may turn out to be. All that you’d really need before picking up this story is in the Cover Description, but that won’t give you the emotional impact that events and life have had on this couple.
The story starts with a hard revolution and picks up speed from there. None of the Cooper brothers expected this, especially Gavin and he is angry beyond words. Yet, Macy is as equally surprised by Mr. Cooper’s will, knowing it may help her to heal is one thing, seeing the results of Gavin losing his home is far different.
I enjoyed Sweet Texas Kiss for several reasons but the most important one is the realistic feel, the “yes, this could happen” believability of what Macy and Gavin find themselves in the middle of. To be quite frank, there were moments within this story that I didn’t like either of them much because of their words and actions, I understood it but still didn’t like it. And that touch of real life is part of why I had such a good time with this couple. No one is perfect, but loving someone is rarely wrong yet sometimes people have to get out of their own pathway to happiness – and Gavin and Macy fit that bill without a doubt.
I’m definitely looking forward to the other Cooper brothers’ stories in this trilogy. If you love a good story, maybe enemies to lovers, definitely sizzling chemistry and a story that will hold you to the book right until the ending, then you’ll want to pick up Sweet Texas Kiss right now.
