Independence has another mystery to solve!

Two, if anyone’s counting …

Sheriff Jace Diamond and his friend Fletcher Vander solved the mystery of Jasper Munson, (Mail-Order Bride Ink: Dear Mr. Vander) a man murdered just before his mail-order bride stepped off the train to meet him. Now Fletcher was happily married to the woman. But that didn’t explain the next mail-order bride to show up in town, this one claiming she was there to marry Jace!

Katie Haverdash was a bookworm and librarian in search of a little adventure. When she began writing the seemingly stalwart Sheriff Diamond, she thought what could be better? A solid man with an adventure-filled job! But Katie gets more than she bargained for when she gets off the train only to find that her betrothed isn’t a betrothed at all. In fact, he didn’t even know she was coming! Now, what was she going to do? Plenty, if she wanted to stay alive. Someone isn’t too happy she’s in town and it’s up to Sheriff Diamond to keep her safe and find out who wants to do away with her. Will love blossom in the midst of danger? Find out in this, sweet, fun western historical romp full of adventure and romance!

A woman with the face of an angel.
A man with the grace of … well, he could use some.

Maxwell Donovan has the chance to prove himself as a Pinkerton detective. Unfortunately, he’s not very good at being one. In fact, its not that he’s short on brains, just balance, which lands him in more trouble than he’d care to admit. Then along came an angel …

Angel Thorne came to Creede to escape the matrimonial wiles of her aunt. But being a nurse in a place like Creede has its own trouble. Like everywhere else, no one can see past her pretty face, which makes Angel figure on a lifetime of spinsterhood. After all, she wants a man that will love her for her mind as well. Will she ever find such a man?

Nursing the Newcomer is the 47th title in the multi-author series, Cowboys and Angels   For a complete list of titles and authors in this series please visit the Cowboys and Angels page.

The Present

A girl who isn’t what she seems …

Lorelei Carson was different, always had been. She had a tough life and her chances of finding love were next to zero. She worked three jobs, barely got her first apartment, and was still enduring the lashing tongues of bullies from high school. She’d hoped once she moved out of her foster parents’ home that it would stop, but it only got worse. In fact, what was supposed to be the best night of her life became the worst when a borrowed dress is ruined and the shoes that went with it are stolen! Little did she know, her troubles had just begun.

The Past

An unsuspecting young man …

Jefferson Cooke, the eldest son of one of the famous Cooke brothers of the Triple-C Ranch wasn’t looking for love. Why bother when there were no young women around to marry? If he wanted a wife, he’d have to send for a mail-order bride and the thought didn’t appeal to him. In his mind, it was far too risky. His situation, therefore, was hopeless. Little did he know a prospect was about to show up and wearing a funny pair of shoes to boot! But that’s not all that was strange about the young woman put into his family’s care. No, there was more to her than meets the eye and Jefferson was about to find just out how much. But can two people from two different worlds find love? A better question is, can they fight it?

A Wrangler

A Beauty

And one fussy angel …

Callan Jones came to work for the Whites with no expectations, a little money in his pocket and a good work ethic. It was all he needed. After losing his family back in Texas, this was his chance to make a fresh start. Then he showed up. Some dandy claiming to be his guardian angel!

Arabella Simpson’s family moved from place to place as they meandered west. Now they were in Creede and it was no different than other place they’d stayed and high-tailed it out of. But, she had to admit, the scenery was beautiful and in more ways than one. If Arabella didn’t stop watching the wrangler at the neighboring ranch, they might have to vamoose for a reason other than her father’s gambling habit.

Can two people determined not to fall in love find it? Maybe with a little help from a certain guardian angel they can.

Owen Kincaid wanted a wife. Unfortunately, he didn’t expect one to arrive the same day he told his parents he did.

Jennie Beauregard was a widow on the run. Not that she had to run fast. How fast can a ninety-something railroad tycoon go?

But it wasn’t the man her brother wanted to marry her off to this time that she had to worry about, but her brother himself. After all, he could pursue her at a fast pace.

With another unwanted arranged marriage staring her in the face, there was only one thing to do! Get married to someone else! But to do that, Jennie needed a matchmaker. Imagine her surprise when she wound up with two!

But despite the help, she wasn’t prepared to marry someone so different from the men her brother chose. Nor was she ready to have a whole new family. Unfortunately, some of them weren’t ready for her either. How was love ever going to blossom?
