Savvy stylist Amanda Wright loves Marietta, her hair salon, and her clients, and no client is more dear to her heart than eighty-year-old Bette Justice–even if her years have made her a little fragile. So when Bette asks Amanda to help her convince her determined grandson, Tyler, a successful game designer, that Marietta is the right home for Bette, Amanda can’t say no.
Tyler Justice has a one-track mind–he wants to take care of his beloved grandmother. He can’t understand her resistance to move to Texas and is sure that the young friend she keeps mentioning–Amanda–is taking advantage of his grandmother’s generosity. He reaches Marietta determined to put the salon owner in her place and bring his grandmother home…until smart, kind Amanda starts to tug at his heart in ways he never expected.
But just as Tyler and Amanda start to form a real connection, will a long-buried family secret destroy their chance at love?

Take A Chance On Me is another great addition to the Love On Chance Avenue series. Tyler lives in the big city, his life is in Texas and he has no desire for the small town life that his grandmother seems to thrive on. When his grandmother makes changes to her will, Tyler decides to step in to save his obviously addled aging grandmother from being taken advantage of by some gold digging schemer. He couldn’t be more wrong if he tried – and at times he sure does try. Tyler’s determination of sweeping in, scooping up his grandmother and head back to Texas is met with one very stubborn, determined and meddling Bette Justice. She might be getting up there in years, but you do not tell this lady what to do. Not happening.
Amanda is incensed when she realizes exactly who the handsome stranger was that had stopped into her shop for a haircut earlier. Now his slightly offensive questions took on a new meaning once she knew that he was really Tyler Justice, Bette’s grandson. This jerk was getting a piece of her very angry mind and she wouldn’t hold back, not even for the love she had for Bette. Sparks will fly, and lives are about to be changed.
Neither Tyler nor Amanda are the bad guy here. They both love Bette. Yes, there were moments when I wanted to just smack Tyler upside the head, as my own grandmother would have said, for his words and his actions. You know at the heart is his love for his grandmother, but his single-mindedness at trying to force what he believes is best gets in the way of the impression he leaves behind. Actually, my real most loved character here is Bette. You do not want to cross this lady as she sets her own plans into motion.
This is at times an emotional story as secrets are revealed, feelings hurt and words are said in anger. Once again, Marietta works its own unique magic on a man who swore he knew what was best, in spite of the obvious right in front of his eyes. We’ll meet up with old friends again, always a treat for me when visiting Marietta. I enjoyed Amanda and Tyler’s story and would recommend it to any Contemporary Romance reader.
