Admittedly I’m in love with any Christmas Romance, there is a precious magic about these stories that will always touch my heart. However, there is always a special spot for those series that I’ve followed that include a Christmas tale. Since most of what I read revolves around family and love in one fashion or another, it makes perfect sense that I enjoy visiting with characters I somewhat know over the holiday season. That’s probably why catching up with Cassidy, who is a cousin to the McCall family, was such a delightful Christmas present.
Cassidy made a choice years ago, one that set her feet on this path today. She turned her back on love and its possibilities to follow her father’s dream for her as though it were her own. Now she’s still reeling from the death of her mother, the surgery to her vocal cords and the lies that her thieving manager told her in order to take just about everything from her when she was down. Now she’s heading to a place that her heart calls home – to Gramps, her cousins and maybe some peace from the media circus that surrounds her lately. What she didn’t expect was the man she’d never stopped loving, the man she gave up so they could each follow their dreams… and now knows what a huge mistake that decision was. But maybe with some tender loving care, a little girl’s winsome ways, and a dusting of Christmas magic Cassidy and Ryder can find what they’d lost – and start their own Christmas traditions, like sticking together for good.
The Cowboy’s Christmas Bride is a touching second chance at getting it right romance. Life didn’t stop moving forward for either of them in the years apart. Lessons learned, hearts broken and mended, perhaps there was a chance that they could get “them” right this time. There’s a lot of heartache in the country music industry, and we get a taste of the struggles Cassidy has gone through to reach the heights. Now other voices mean much more to her, like one man and one little girl’s… and those are the important ones to listen to this time. It’s always fun to catch up with members of the family in a series and I was so happy to see all the brothers and their wives once again.
Whether you’re in the mood for a heartwarming Christmas romance, or a second chance at love for two people who really belong together you’ll find a fantastic story in The Cowboy’s Christmas Bride. I’d recommend Cassidy and Ryder’s romance to any reader who enjoys a good love story, touches of holiday magic and characters who leap off the page.
