“No more detours!” That was the promise Angelina Lord made to herself when she accepted a ride from a wedding in Texas, with the best man to her destination in Santa Fe, New Mexico. What could possibly go wrong?
Angelina is focused on one thing–opening a fashion boutique in Santa Fe. What she really doesn’t need is one full-of-himself lawman with his aggravating air of superiority and soul-searing eyes…not to mention heart-stopping kisses…coming to her rescue. If she lets him get too close to the truth, he could bring down the wall she erected around her well-ordered life and her heart.
United States Marshal Jace Blackhawke holds family and traditions as the center of his life. He isn’t part of Angie’s world and she certainly isn’t part of his. Will their differences prove to be too insurmountable in the face of the truth that will not stay silent?
Title: The Lawman’s Apache Moon

Author: Debra Holt
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Published: August 10, 2017

My Rating: 4.5 stars
While I don’t think it’s absolutely necessary to have read the first story in this series, Beware The Ranger is not only a terrific story but introduces us to these characters and the roles they played early on in this series. I’m always recommending to read a series in order, but realistically I know that’s not always possible… yet, if you can pick up the first one, it will add so much to your enjoyment of The Lawman’s Apache Moon.
Angelina is finally on the road to her future in Santa Fe where she intends to open shop. Only plans have changed, she’s going solo and while happy for her best friend’s happiness, she’s feeling a tad bit alone right now. Sure there’s a handsome man alongside her making sure she gets to her destination safely… as if she needed the escort. But despite the attraction, Jace is not her man. What started out as helping a friend will soon turn into a much more complicated situation – one that neither Angelina or Jace expected. One dangerous storm, one hotel room available and one beloved relative will make life interesting for this couple who are fighting their attraction for each other. They each hold secrets, can they finally trust someone enough to allow love to grow into something amazing.
While thinking of how to describe this story to you one word keeps coming to mind… vivid. The scenery, the colors, the emotions, the couple themselves… are all vivid and so very easy to picture in your mind. I read a lot, but I cannot remember the last time a story took me so deeply into details and smells, colors, emotions that I could have reached out and touched them. Adding to the mix are the honorable traditions of Jace’s heritage which simply made their story so much more realistic. I would highly recommend The Lawman’s Apache Moon, and the entire series to any Romance reader who love to fall into the surroundings, live in the moment with the couple and find a very satisfactory happy ending for a charming couple.
