Some people follow the rules. . .
A professor of forensic anthropology, James Donovan is the reasonable sibling among the passionate, impulsive Donovans. But there’s nothing reasonable about his reaction to baker Gracie Roberts. She’s all wild curls and mouth-watering curves, as deliciously tempting as the sugary treats she’s famous for–and twice as irritating. But before long, James decides that getting a taste of her is one indulgence he can’t pass up. . .
Some people play to win. . .
Independent, smart, and sexy, Gracie’s year-long dry spell has her itching for a man. Responsible, health-obsessed James? Not in a million years! She needs a guy who knows how to let loose! But when James sets out to show her just how satisfying a disciplined man can be when pleasure is at stake, she learns just how sweet–and spicy–he really is.
Have James and Gracie found the recipe for love?
Read on for my thoughts on The Name of the Game. No true spoilers, promise.
There is just something about opposites attract novels that get me right in the heart. Heck, the main in my life and I couldn’t be more different if we tried really hard – but we work, somehow we do.
James and Gracie? To look at them from the outside, you’d shake your head and vow no way. But there is that something that sparks for and between them that simply cannot be denied. Oh, they tried but in the end – if it’s meant to be, you’re sunk.
James is the benchmark for a serious, by the book, never eats sweets, runs to keep fit, motivated by his own rules kind of guy. Yet, he’s always felt the draw of Gracie. Especially when he didn’t. Oh, sure it seems like they don’t like each other – but if that were true, why the sparks when they’re around each other?
Gracie can’t help reacting…badly around James. If there were a more uptight, more unfun guy around then she’d like to meet him ‘cos James has the crown on that title. But he is sinfully delicious looking and she’d bet he tastes just as sweet – wait, where did that come from?
I loved James and Gracie in The Name of the Game. They try so hard to not be right for each other.. that it’s funny. Sometimes you just have to go with what feels right, even when it’s the last thing you thought you’d ever do. When they think that a fling will get rid of the sexual tensions – they have just begun to burn calories.
If you enjoy a really good story full of sexual tension that set the pages on smolder, then you’ll love The Name of the Game. I would definitely recommend this story, and get caught up with the earlier ones, too. When you find an entertaining, fun and sexy series you stick with it. Indulge yourself and enjoy.
