Cover Description:

Olivia Lane wants to become the premiere event planner for Blue Moon Bay’s rich and famous. But first she has to impress Greta von Strand—millionaire and bestselling author of Men: Who Needs Them?—by pulling off a two-week luxury getaway for women. The retreat’s all about getting women to embrace their independence by nurturing themselves and each other, and Olivia, who’s never been lucky-in-love herself, is looking forward to it.

The retreat and Olivia’s goals hit a roadblock, however, when sweet-talking firefighter, Brody Mitchell, and his smoking hot friends take up residence at the mansion next door. Now, she must successfully keep Greta and the other women away from their male neighbors, fight her attraction to Brody, and pull off the retreat of a lifetime in one fell swoop.

It’s a battle of the sexes she’s determined to win, otherwise she could lose everything—including her heart.

Read on for my thoughts on The Perfect Kiss.  No true spoilers, promise.

As impossible as it seems at times, The Perfect Kiss shows us that indeed we can ‘have it all’… with the right partner.  Olivia has come out of a bad relationship and as many of us do, she turned to self-help books for inspiration on changing her track record with the wrong men.  She has convinced the author of  Men: Who Needs Them? to hold a women’s retreat.  With her new event planning business getting a popular author like Greta von Strand to, hopefully, give her some good recommendations after this event, Olivia is determined to make this retreat a complete success.

And it might have worked out just fine – if Brody and his friends hadn’t been staying at the mansion right next door.  If his fun and charming banter, his patience with her refusals, or his determination to show her that she could have the love of a good man and a successful business… hadn’t gotten in the way of her plans.

I have said it before and it’s worth repeating – I am a huge fan of Susan Hatler’s writing.  Plus she’s a super nice person.  It is always so easy to fall into her stories.  I’ll often discover traits of her characters in my own circle of friends.  It’s definitely amusing to me to see them portrayed so well in her books, as if she knew them herself… or has those types of  friends as well.

Olivia and Brody are a fun couple.  She is smart, stubborn and really can stand on her own two feet.  He is charming and understands that anything worth having is worth working for, whether that’s a business or a relationship.  I truly liked them separately, but together they made that couple that you see now in their late life, still holding hands on the bench watching the sunset.  True love over a lifetime, that is what Olivia and Brody brought to my mind as their story concluded.

When you’re looking for a good, solid love story, one that is realistic yet full of possibilities then you should be looking at Susan Hatler’s titles for inspiration.  The Perfect Kiss is a tale well told and a love worth wishing for in your own life.  Definitely would highly recommend this story to any Romance reader, no matter their preferred genre.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley for an honest review. That does not change what I think of this novel.*  **I also purchased this title for my own personal collection.**
