The Soccer Player and the Single Mom by Kyra Jacobs

For most women, working for a sexy soccer star would be a dream come true. All except single mom Felicity Shaw. She has no interest in playing personal assistant for a stubborn, injured playboy—no matter how nice his abs are. But with bills piling up and mouths to feed, she can’t say no to the job.

That’s when it gets interesting.

The last thing Scott Gillie wants or needs is a persistent and entirely too distracting PA while he’s recuperating in his small hometown. Unfortunately, it’s not up to him. Then Felicity and her son end up temporarily moving in—all thanks to his meddlesome grandmother. Now the temptation is right across the hall and it’s driving Scott crazy.

His only option is to fight fire with fire.

He never expects Felicity to do the same.

I had fun with THE SOCCER PLAYER AND THE SINGLE MOM.  Felicity and Scott really do start out as a “what the heck is this couple doing together” feeling yet the chemistry is there from the start… everyone’s just ignoring it (like that helps at all).  It’s also true that early on in this story Scott often comes off as a grown-up cry baby who isn’t getting his own way.  I get that he doesn’t want to be out of the game, but an injury needs time to heal – even he has to acknowledge that at some point.

Little Tyler, Felicity’s son and Edna, Scott’s grandmother were the true stars of this romance for me.  I adored Scott and Tyler’s relationship – and as my own grandmother would say Edna was such a hoot, I loved her to bits.

This story is an engaging one of opposites attracting, finding something you didn’t know you needed in life and all the pieces falling into the right slots.  As I mentioned, I  had fun with this one and enjoyed every moment spent in this world.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story.  It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*
