When half–wolf shifter Frankie Newman receives an e-mail from a family member she didn’t know existed, a secret is revealed: as a child, Frankie witnessed her father killing her mother…and then himself. Frankie was torn from her pack by her mother’s human relatives, and the trauma was erased from her memory. Realizing that she’s been lied to her entire life, she’s never felt more alone. Until she catches the scent of an old friend—warmly familiar and intoxicating.
Trick Hardy, enforcer of the Phoenix Pack, can sense the rush of mutual attraction when he sees Frankie again. He knows immediately that she’s his true mate. But he also knows that, given her fragile state, he needs to tread with care—no matter how fierce his surging desires.
As aroused as Frankie is by Trick’s darkly dominant air and simmering desire, her priority right now is her past—not her future, no matter how tempting. But as more secrets emerge and Frankie’s life is threatened, Trick must do everything he can to keep her close and safe. After all, it’s their destiny.

I have followed The Phoenix Pack series since the first book, and Wild Hunger only reinforces why I’ve loved this series so much. The Phoenix Pack, The Mercury Pack … this is why Paranormal Shifter Romance is my favorite genre, for the stories, the characters, the connections just like this.
Trick has been a favorite since the beginning. He always gave off the impression that he was content to search for and wait for his fated, true mate. And his wait paid off with Frankie. While she hadn’t been brought up in pack life, Frankie still understood the strong reaction to Trick. She had a past to figure out, a pack to understand, and there is certainly danger heading her way… but Trick is there for her and with her. There’s no “maybe we are, maybe we shouldn’t” there’s simply mates and life moves on. I appreciated that Trick and Frankie got to spend the time to know each other. She’d been ripped from the pack at such a tender age and now she’s learning so much it’s almost overwhelming. Trick is confident in his true mate, and he will defend, protect and love her until his dying day… and beyond. It’s just a known thing and that speaks volumes in this particular genre.
There are some twists and turns, some old friends to catch up with and simply a very good Shifter love story. If you love Shifter Romance, then you’ll want to get your hands on Wild Hunger. I’d definitely recommend this story and entire series to any Paranormal Romance or Shifter Romance reader who love a good story, a solid plot, likable and relatable characters, secondary characters to bring the book to life and nasty villains to defeat. Yeah, Wild Hunger is an excellent addition to The Phoenix Pack series.
