The most wonderful time of the year?

Katie Warham has just one wish this year…to have the best Christmas ever!

If only she could lock herself away in a cloud of flour and sugar at her cosy little tearoom, Crumbtious Cakes, instead of spending the festive season trapped with her judgemental mother, crazy Aunt Gina and loved-up celebrity brother Carl…

But Katie never expected her ex-boyfriend, widower Sam – and his two adorable children – to turn up on her doorstep. She didn’t think that any man could tempt her under the mistletoe this year, but Sam might just prove the exception! And as the snow begins to fall and Katie puts the final touches to her famous Christmas cake, she begins to wonder, could her Christmas wish actually come true?

Read on for my thoughts on Wish Upon A Christmas Cake.  No true spoilers, promise.

Katie would almost rather skip Christmas this year… but she knows the reality of life and her family.  So she’s heading for the gathering with a wish for a wonderful Christmas never thinking that her wish is truly about to be granted.

She expected to find the loving eccentric family she adored – she never expected to find Sam and his two kids as well.  The man she had loved, the one that no one since has been able to live up to.. Sam.  How was she supposed to survive this Christmas with the love of her life and two adorable children who already had another piece of her heart right here, so near and so far.  But perhaps Christmas wishes can come true.

I do not have enough praise to heap upon Wish Upon A Christmas Cake.  It’s a second chance at love, mixed up with a lovable, crazy family and Christmas all rolled up in one delightful story.  No, I’m not going to give you more details for you need to experience this one all on your own.  But you will find a heartwarming story, a family so much like our own, realities of life that cannot be changed and a love that deserves a second look as well as a happy ending at last.

If I had to pick five Christmas stories to give to friends and family this year – Wish Upon a Christmas Cake would definitely be in that bundle.  I don’t think I can give a higher recommendation than that.  Go on indulge yourself and get lost in a Christmas story that you’ll be re-reading next year and beyond.

*I received an e-ARC of Wish Upon A Christmas Cake from the publisher and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. That does not change what I think of this novel.*
