Cover Description:

Wolf shifter Alex Trevino has fallen hard for veterinarian Lacey Barton. Getting her to agree to a date is a lot of work—and winning her heart proves even harder.

Lacey can’t deny her crazy attraction to Alex, but she has no intention of letting herself fall for him. In her less than stellar experience, men don’t stick around.

When Lacey’s sister is kidnapped, it’s up to Alex to crack the case—and prove to Lacey that he isn’t going anywhere.

Titles in this series include:  Hungry Like The Wolf – Wolf Trouble – In The Company of Wolves – Wolf Unleashed

I enjoyed Alex and Lacey’s romance very much.  These two are more similar in their outlook on things, especially dogs and that made for an interesting turn away from the complete opposites attract for some of the other couples in this series.  Several story plot lines run through Wolf Unleashed bringing some story lines further along… and adding a few surprises as well.  It’s hard not to find Alex adorable in his pursuit of Lacey, even if at times he borders on stalker like behavior.  Her determination to aid animals, even when putting herself foolishly in danger is one of Lacey’s strong points.

While they have issues to deal with, Alex and Lacey make a great addition to the couples who make up this wolf pack.

I am so torn on the SWAT: Special Wolf Alpha Team series at this point.  While I still love the series, and I will read it until the very final story is written… right now I’m starting to have issues.  When I finished Alex and Lacey’s story I actually sat back and thought that this read more like a romantic suspense story that just happened to have werewolves in the lead roles, instead of a paranormal.  I shouldn’t be thinking that… at all.  We now have wolf hunters and a new beta wolf group added to the mix, yet I’m not seeing much development along those story lines so far.  *sigh*  I do not have the right (or any reader) to tell the author what to write, I’m given a story that is in Ms Tyler’s imagination and I need to just run with that.  Yet, I had thought that more of the werewolf lore would be part of the unique group of wolf shifters who just happen to be a special unit of the Dallas police force.  I’m seeing bits and pieces, but at this point in the series – well, I expected more.  Perhaps I got the wrong impression back at the beginning of the series, but that’s how I’m feeling about this series now.  I enjoy it, I’ll keep reading it but I’m approaching the feeling of rinse and repeat and I do not want to feel that about these amazing werewolves.  I just don’t.  Wolf Hunt, the 6th title is out in June of 2017 – going by the title, I’m hoping that this is the turning point I’ve been waiting for.  Time will tell.

(I’ve sat on this review for a week now – and I haven’t changed my mind on it.  I stand by my thoughts, never with an intent to offend but voicing what I’m feeling about a series that I love and will continue to read.)
