A Timeless Christmas by Alexis Stanton

They’re from two different centuries, but they’re perfect for each other.

Megan Turner is in love with the past. As a tour guide at a beautiful historic mansion, she tells visitors about its original owner, Charles Whitley. An inventor and businessman in the early 1900s, he rose from poverty to wealth…only to disappear without a trace.

Charles was always intrigued by the future. He just never expected to go there. But when he repairs a mysterious clock he bought on his travels, he’s transported to the twenty-first century, with his home decorated for Christmas and overrun by strangers.

Charles is determined to find a way back to his own era, especially when he learns about what happened after he left. But as Megan introduces him to the wonders of smartphones, pizza, and modern holiday traditions, they both feel a once-in-a-lifetime connection. Could it be that, somewhere in time, they belong together?

My Rating:  4.5 stars

I easily feel into A Timeless Christmas just like stepping through a portal in time and loved every single moment of my time with Charles and Megan.  I am definitely keeping fingers crossed that this one does come to life on film one day.  The beauty of that cover and the sense of a moment out of time that it conveys to me only adds to the hope of seeing actors take over Megan and Charles’ roles one season soon.

Part of the draw of a Time Slip Romance for me is always the “what if” questions that run through my imagination.  Would history be changed more by a person returning to their own time if it was indeed part of history that they arrived in another time period?  As I’m reading those are the questions that are in my mind, and that feeling was very much in the forefront with A Timeless Christmas.  Although I loved both Charles and Megan together, the moment in this story that sticks in my mind is the second that strangers invaded Charles’ study… in another time period… that gave me such a perfect sense of a jump in time allowing the rest to fall into place quite naturally.

I found myself quite swept away with A Timeless Christmas, between the beauty of the estate in it’s Christmas finery, the laughter at the different gadgets that Charles got to play around with, to the haunting love between Megan and Charles not knowing if their love would be stolen away from them or last together forever.  The combination of those emotions made this a story that I will be re-reading next Christmas.  And although it might not sound like much, putting a book on that ‘yearly Christmas books to read again list’ is a very high compliment from me.

If you love time travel, a taste of history, charming secondary characters and a couple that you will be hoping get to keep their happy ever after for always… then this is a story that you’ll want to pick up this Christmas season –  and maybe read again next year.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*
