Enchant the Dawn is the second title in the Enchant series, and delivers every single spine chill I expect from this author or a vampire hero.  As a long-time reader of Paranormal Romance, especially vampires, it’s become a given that the vampire character is all-powerful, with little hesitation in their actions.  I was charmed early on by Dominic, who is a strong but young vampire who clearly doesn’t always think before he jumps in, and who shows vulnerabilities where he sometimes needs to be rescued.  That struck me and perhaps endeared him to me a bit sooner than I expected.  Oh, he’s sexy as sin and a force to be reckoned with… but those little touches of hesitation, of getting in over his head, made him a much more interesting character to me.

I adored Maddy.  She’s stronger than she believes, and when faced with an entire world that she never knew existed she faces the challenges ahead if she wants to be in Dominic’s life.  Yes, her acceptance of the paranormal may seem fast to some, but realistically, hasn’t the entire population of the world been exposed to the fictional paranormal world by now?  Why would it take her weeks to realize that the pretend is the reality?  At least, that’s how I chose to take her rather fast acceptance of the unknown.

Maddy and Dominic’s story is a fast-paced, steamy, intense, and action-packed tale that highlights the dangers of the world that Maddy is stepping into.  We’ll run into witches, more evil vampires, and a revenge-driven villain.  I enjoyed myself in this world with a romance that made me smile and a couple that felt right together.
