Texas Game Wardens don’t just protect the natural resources of the Lone Star State, they protect the people as well. Trace Carson considers every warden as more than just fellow officers, they’re family.

Especially, Miranda Jimenez. She’d gone through the academy when he was on staff, and he was her first in-field training officer. There was no denying that she was a beautiful woman, he’d worked side by side with her and knew that her dedication to upholding the laws of Texas was second only to caring for wild animals and natural resources.

When she decided to leave her job as a game warden to open a wild animal rehabilitation it made perfect sense, but he couldn’t explain the sudden ache he felt at the thought of her leaving. It wasn’t going to be out of sight, out of mind, because he went to her ‘retirement’ party and he kissed her, changing everything.

When her connection with Trace puts Miranda’s life in danger, the law enforcement community in San Antonio pulls together to get her back where she belongs… in Trace’s arms. Will they find her in time to save her and get Justice for Miranda?

My Rating:  4.5 stars

JUSTICE FOR MIRANDA drew me in easily with Miranda and Trace as friends, co-workers, and each attracted to the other but keeping their silence for their own reasons.  This stand-off ends on the night of Miranda’s “retirement” party from the Texas Game Wardens to opening a wildlife reserve/clinic with her cousin Jun.  She’d always loved animals and this was truly her calling, but it also broke her heart to not have close contact with Trace each day.  One kiss begins a rollercoaster romance between two people who have loved each other in silence for years, now that love gets to shine and show its true value.  I used the word “rollercoaster” for a specific reason for that is exactly the feel that JUSTICE FOR MIRANDA gives to me.  It starts out steady with a delightful ‘will it or will it not be’ type of romance and then the tensions, the excitement, the pace, and the entire feel of the story increases with each passing chapter until you’re on that downward first hill of a rollercoaster and you won’t be getting off this ride until the very end.

I loved every moment in Trace and Miranda’s journey, and I’m willing to bet that if you love Romantic Suspense then you will, too.  There are some intense moments.  I hesitate to call them triggers, but there are, again some very intense scenes.  The story has a very realist, real-life feel to it, I can easily imagine this happening to someone.  I’m not one to give away spoilers, but JUSTICE FOR MIRANDA had me glued to my Kindle with no breaks.  So, yeah, I’d say I enjoyed this one.

If you love a believable romance with some suspense and lots of intriguing secondary characters to enjoy, then you’ll want to check out Trace and Miranda’s story.

I read this title through my Kindle Unlimited subscription.
