After the only woman Joe Wyatt ever loved marries another, the Montana rancher swears off romance. He’s done playing the game. Only problem? He needs a wife, and kids he can pass the Paradise Valley cattle ranch to. So Joe takes the same no-nonsense approach to marriage as he does to running his family’s business…he places an online ad for a mail-order bride. The ad is a lot like Joe, straight-forward and to-the-point: Wife Wanted.

When Sophie Correia is left at the altar after her groom runs off with her maid of honor, she wants to get as far away from California and her dairy farming family as possible. Sophie doesn’t need hearts and flowers, but she’s fed up with men who can’t commit. And at thirty, she’s more than ready to start a family. When she comes across Joe’s ad, she thinks she’s found the perfect solution — head to Montana, get married, and move forward.

Can a contract for marriage lead to love, or will the arrangement cost them their hearts?

Titles in the Wyatt Brothers of Montana series include – Montana Cowboy Romance – Montana Cowboy Christmas – Montana Cowboy Daddy –

Title:  Montana Cowboy Romance
Series:  Wyatt Brothers of Montana #1
Author:  Jane Porter
Genre:  Modern Western Romance

My Rating:  4.5 stars

I loved returning to Marietta, Montana and the Paradise Valley for the start of the Wyatt Brothers of Montana series.  I’ve never hidden the fact that Marietta is by far my favorite fictional small-town location, and Montana Cowboy Romance shows all the quirks and joys of this town so very well.

Both Joe and Sophie have been burned badly in the love department, and both really want a no-nonsense, convenient marriage because they each want the same things in life (for the most part) – and that includes someone to respect, like, grow old with and definitely kids.  Love is not required since love cannot be trusted and simply hurts far too often, but like is good enough.  Since romance is out of the question for them a tried and true method of years gone by – the mail order bride – takes on a modern twist with Joe placing an ad and Sophie answering.  No messy emotional strings attached, complete need and necessity prevail, right?  Well… love happens, real, lasting love happens when least expected and this couple is about to be sideswiped by emotions neither was looking for in a town where love is always just around the corner.

I had such a good time with Montana Cowboy Romance.  Joe is the strong, silent type but Sophie knocks him for a loop early on.  Sophie is spunky and stubborn and determined to find her place with Joe, his family (who aren’t helping much at first) and this town she’s falling for fast.  I liked them individually, they caught fire together.  This one is an emotional, enjoyable introduction to the series – and now I’ll be waiting for Montana Cowboy Christmas (which can’t come fast enough for me).  If you love a good old fashioned mail order bride story with a modern setting and a few twists then you’ll want to get started on the Wyatt Brothers of Montana series… today.  Definitely recommend to any reader who loves a good love story – especially necessary for anyone who has a love affair going on with Marietta, Montana.
