Thirty-one year old Claire Hatley is running from Seattle having just discovered that her live-in boyfriend has traded her in for a twenty-two year old hostess. Devastated and alone Claire must make a fresh start.

She answers an ad for a chef at a guest ranch just outside Colorado Springs and finds herself face to face with Cole Mitchell, quite possibly the sexiest man to ever ride a horse. Common sense tells them to stay away from each other, but their attraction is not to be denied. He gives her a glimpse of what love should be, but just as she starts to trust him, the past comes back to tear them apart.

Join Claire and Cole as they embark on the stormy love affair of a lifetime.

Read on for my thoughts on Break in Two.  No true spoilers, promise.

While I enjoyed Break in Two very much, it’s not going to be to everyone’s taste.  It is a longish novel, in a world of fast reads this one is going to take up more of your time and possibly your emotions.  Not a bad thing, in my opinion.  There is definitely insta-lust between Claire and Cole.  I would not define it as insta-love but they certainly are presented as an established couple rather quickly.  While I had no problem with that, I do know that many readers are put off by anything remotely resembling immediate instant love.

There is sex galore.  Lots and lots of lovely burn up the sheets and any other surface type of sex.  You will either love this or be distracted by it because frankly there is (I repeat myself) lots of sex.  This novel is classified as romance and erotica so it’s to be expected.

Cole and Claire fit well together.  Both are recovering from broken hearts only to discover that each was well worth the break-ups in order to find each other.  But the past will intrude upon their relationship in a most annoying, but long used ploy by past lovers the world over.  And Claire will run.  Cole will have some groveling to do once he discovers the absolute truth of their situation.  Will Claire take him back?  I think you’ll have to read Break in Two for yourself to find out.

The secondary characters were delightful (well, except for two of them) and I enjoyed their parts in the story almost as much as the main characters.  As I mentioned, this is a long novel so there is plenty of time to meet the entire crew in this story, and be glad that they all were included.

If you enjoy hot, steamy, detailed sex scenes – you’re gonna love this one.  I would recommend Break in Two to people who can see past the sex scenes to the basic story and enjoy both.  I count myself as one of those types of readers.  I was entertained and will gladly pick up the next novel by M J Summers without hesitation.

*I received an e-ARC of Break in Two from the publisher and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. That does not change what I think of this novel.*

**Any review is just one person’s opinion. You might feel the same or totally different. The only way to know for certain is for you to read it. This was my opinion of this particular book.**
