Waiting on Wednesday #4

Posted February 11, 2015 by Marsha in This one's a Keeper / 12 Comments

Waiting on Wednesday“Waiting on” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking The Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.

This week I’m waiting for the second installment of Silver Wolf Clan to be released next week.

Black Wolf's RevengeMorgan Carter witnessed her sister’s murder, has been turned into a werewolf and is now raising her young niece. Then her fiance, Greyson Crawford, proves he wants to be with her for the wrong reasons, and she knows her life couldn’t be any stranger. Devastated, she retreats to her cozy house in the city with her sister’s little girl, Lana. There, they’ll have normalcy, and maybe eventually, even happiness.

But Morgan’s the only living silver wolf. Her uniqueness—the ability to produce werewolf offspring—means, without Grey’s protection, she’s unknowingly put herself and Lana in deadly danger. Other werewolves want to claim her for their pack, and she’s the easiest, most tempting prey ever.

When they strike, Grey has to find her and rescue her before it’s too late. Not so simple a task; he has only the uncontrollable beast inside him, Wolf, and an unlikely pack of allies he’s forced to rely on. Can he get to her in time? And if he does, can he convince her he’s there for the right reasons, saving them both?

I love a good werewolf story.  How about you?  What are you dying to get your hands on soon?

Waiting on Wednesday #3

Waiting on Wednesday“Waiting on” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking The Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.

My pick this week is from a favorite author and is part of a long series:

A Pirate’s Wife For Me #11 in the Governess Brides series

A Pirates Wife For Me CDCaitlin MacLeod of Scotland is proud to announce her graduation from The Distinguished Academy of Governesses. She specializes in the womanly arts of housekeeping, picking locks, and overthrowing ruthless dictators, and is looking for a position wherein she can utilize these skills. No dashing, dastardly pirates or faithless, former lovers need seek her services.

Ship’s captain (and prince in disguise) Taran Tamson is by coincidence in need of the best lockpick in the land; he needs the reckless auburn-haired beauty to retrieve the papers that will help him leave behind his swashbuckling ways and win his island kingdom of Cenorina. He assures said lady that he will honor her demand for a proper, chaste relationship for as long as she desires it, then use his every sensual wile to make sure she desires only one thing — him…

I have enjoyed Christina Dodd’s Historical novels for years – (I love her paranormal The Chosen Ones series as well).  This is one Historical I cannot wait to get my hands on.  🙂

How about you?  What are you waiting for this week?  Is it just me or do those eyes remind you of a certain swashbuckling pirate of movie fame ?  *wink*

Waiting on Wednesday #2

Posted January 28, 2015 by Marsha in This one's a Keeper / 58 Comments

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Break The Spine where we can show off our much anticipated upcoming novel releases.

My pick this week is Viper Game by Christine Feehan.  I think the video speaks for itself as to why I’m looking forward to this one.

This is what I’m waiting for.

Book Blurb:

GhostWalker Wyatt Fontenot knows the price he paid for the secret military experiments that gave him his special catlike abilities. After all, he left his bayou home a healer and came back a killer. While Wyatt and his GhostWalker brother Gator may have known exactly the sort of game they were getting into, Wyatt never anticipated where it would lead — or to whom.

The swamps hold many mysteries, but few are as sinuously seductive as Le Poivre de Cayenne. The woman the locals call Pepper is every bit as enigmatic as the three little girls she’s desperately trying to protect. From what, Wyatt is soon to discover. Right now Pepper needs a man like Wyatt. Passionately. But her secrets are about to take them both deeper into the bayou than either imagined — where desire is the deadliest poison of all.

Viper Game by Christine Feehan

Technically, since this released on January 27, 2015 I don’t have to wait any longer. At the time I wrote up this post I believed the release date was tomorrow, so I’d just get this in under the date – yet I found it on Amazon yesterday.  So I broke the rule just a wee bit. But I cannot wait to start reading it.

Excuse me, I have to head off to the swamp now.  *wink*

Waiting on Wednesday #1

Posted January 21, 2015 by Marsha in This one's a Keeper / 16 Comments

Waiting on WednesdayThis is my first Waiting on Wednesday post.  I’ve seen it before, but this time I’m going to jump right in.  🙂

“Waiting on” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking The Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.

This week’s wait is: Obsession In Death by J. D. Robb.  Release date:  February 10, 2015

I am such a Nora Roberts / J D Robb fan.  I think I’ve mentioned it before in posts and in comments that her new releases (under either name) are auto-buys for me.

Since her next release of an “…In Death” novel under the J D Robb name comes out next month, it was kinda a given in my mind what I was going to present as the book I’m waiting for this Wednesday.

I’m waiting for:

Obsession in Death

From Amazon:

Eve Dallas has solved a lot of high-profile murders for the NYPSD and gotten a lot of media. She—and her billionaire husband—are getting accustomed to being objects of attention, of gossip, of speculation.

But now Eve has become the object of one person’s obsession. Someone who finds her extraordinary, and thinks about her every hour of every day. Who believes the two of them have a special relationship. Who would kill for her—again and again…

With a murderer reading meanings into her every move, handling this case will be a delicate—and dangerous—psychological dance. And Eve knows that underneath the worship and admiration, a terrible threat lies in wait. Because the beautiful lieutenant is not at all grateful for these bloody offerings from her “true and loyal friend.” And in time, idols always fall…

If you aren’t familiar with the ___In Death world, here’s a quick overview.

Set in New York City, NY about 50 years in the future we are brought into the world of Lt. Eve Dallas, (a kickass, badass cop with issues that play out throughout the ongoing books) she’s a murder cop and once dead, that person belongs to her and she will do anything and everything to find the killer.

Meet Roarke.  Just Roarke.  Eve’s deliciously handsome husband – billionaire husband who probably owns half the universe.  He is a former thief, extraordinary computer expert and often civilian consultant on Eve’s cases (hard to put computer hacking and lockpicking on the official books, ya know?)  To Roarke the most important job in his world is pampering Eve (which she doesn’t understand), protecting Eve and teaching Eve that life is more than a murder board.

These are the two main characters of the  __In Death universe.  (if you can, think of the old Thin Man movies without the dog) 🙂   We also met and get to know Eve’s team, her partner – her world.  And Roarke’s world as well.

This ongoing book series is very much like a television show, like Law & Order for instance. Every new book is another murder, yet with each new novel we learn more about the world of Lt. Eve Dallas.  How she grows, the relationships around her get deeper, more personal.  So that with each new novel I, personally, feel like I am visiting with an old friend and catching up on her life… with a murder to solve tossed in.  🙂

Yes.  I love this ongoing series.  Which is why I’ll be at my local bookstore to pick up Obsession In Death on February 10, 2015.  Because I need an in my hand, hardback copy of every In Death novel.

If you’ve never heard of read any of the In Death series I would suggest that on your next library visit you look in the stacks for Naked In Death (or request it if there isn’t a copy there).  That is where it all begins.  If you have the least interest in mystery, suspense, thriller, a touch of sci-fi in the future gadgets aspect, oh and of course love, sex and romance.  If any of that appeals to you – you might be Waiting on Wednesday for her next release.  🙂
