Three women—two sisters and their aunt—and the cliff house on the northern California coast that served as a beacon to them all…

After the death of their mother, sisters Daisy and Beatriz Davenport found a home with their aunt Stella in the beautiful and welcoming town of Cape Sanctuary. They never knew all the dreams that Stella sacrificed to ensure they had everything they’d ever need. Now, with Daisy and Bea grown up, it’s time for Stella to reveal the secret she’s been keeping from them—a secret that will change their family forever.

Bea thought she’d sown all her wild oats when she got pregnant far too young. The marriage that followed was rocky and not destined to last, but it gave Bea her wonderful, mature, now eleven-year-old daughter, Marisol. But just as she’s beginning to pursue a new love with an old friend, Bea’s ex-husband resurfaces and turns their lives completely upside down.

Then there’s Daisy—sensible, rational, financially prudent Daisy. She’s never taken a risk in her life—until she meets a man who makes her question everything she thought she knew about life, love and the power of taking chances.

The Cliff House tells the stories of Stella, Daisy, and Bea – aunt, nieces, sisters, women who have been through emotional wringers during their lives yet have come out the other side whole and far better off than they’d ever have imagined.

Most of what you’d need to know before picking up this engaging saga of three incredible women can be found in the Cover Description.  That doesn’t really prepare you for the roller-coaster of emotions this story will bring to the reader as you see their lives unfold before your eyes.  The sisters, Daisy and Bea didn’t have a wonderful beginning, yet when their Aunt Stella stepped in life changed for the better for the girls.  For Stella, well, she’d made a decision, a difficult even heart-breaking decision to dedicate her life to these children at any cost to her own life.  Now as the girls have grown into adults it’s time for Stella to pick up that life – but so far she’s kept that a secret, one that she’ll have no choice but to share soon.

In general, I try not to do spoilers (even unintentionally) so my feelings about The Cliff House were all over the spectrum.  Anger, joy, loss, discovery, betrayal and coming home finally.  I laughed, I cried, and at times I got so angry so I can, without hesitation, say that this story will wake up your emotions and have you feeling throughout Stella, Daisy, and Bea’s stories.

There are several stories running parallel throughout The Cliff House as we learn more about each woman and their lives.  I never felt confused, the overall story along with the different storylines flowed easily.  I cared about these women, their lives, their choices and the joy that each finally finds.  I loved being in this world and could have spent even more time with these characters.  A touch of Romance, a bit of Women’s Fiction, and a lot of a really, really good story await you in The Cliff House.
