Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Break The Spine where we can show off our much anticipated upcoming novel releases.
My pick this week is Viper Game by Christine Feehan. I think the video speaks for itself as to why I’m looking forward to this one.
This is what I’m waiting for.
Book Blurb:
GhostWalker Wyatt Fontenot knows the price he paid for the secret military experiments that gave him his special catlike abilities. After all, he left his bayou home a healer and came back a killer. While Wyatt and his GhostWalker brother Gator may have known exactly the sort of game they were getting into, Wyatt never anticipated where it would lead — or to whom.
The swamps hold many mysteries, but few are as sinuously seductive as Le Poivre de Cayenne. The woman the locals call Pepper is every bit as enigmatic as the three little girls she’s desperately trying to protect. From what, Wyatt is soon to discover. Right now Pepper needs a man like Wyatt. Passionately. But her secrets are about to take them both deeper into the bayou than either imagined — where desire is the deadliest poison of all.
Viper Game by Christine Feehan
Technically, since this released on January 27, 2015 I don’t have to wait any longer. At the time I wrote up this post I believed the release date was tomorrow, so I’d just get this in under the date – yet I found it on Amazon yesterday. So I broke the rule just a wee bit. But I cannot wait to start reading it.
Excuse me, I have to head off to the swamp now. *wink*
I’m not sure if this is a book for me, but I hope you’ll love it. 🙂 Thanks for sharing!
Here’s my WoW
Hi Petra,
That’s okay, not every book is for every person. I will definitely love it, no doubt.
Thanks so much for visiting.
I haven’t heard of this book before but it sounds great and I hope you’ll end up loving it! Thanks for stopping by at Carmel & Kyla. 😀
Viper Game is the latest in a long ongoing series Ghostwalkers. Soldiers taken captive and experimented upon to enhance their natural abilities to be paired with specific, just meant for each man, genetically altered females who were also captured – all by the same madman and his crew. His goal? World domination – until they escape and begin to plot the mad scientist’s demise. In a nutshell. 🙂
I already know I’m gonna love it.
Thanks for the visit.
Loving the list. This author is pretty popular. 😀
I also loved how you put your list this week.
My waiting on Wednesday!
Hi Christine,
I decided to mix it up a bit with the video. Nothing tells a story quite like seeing it, then reading more about it. I guess it’s obvious that I love this series. lol
Thanks for the visit. I’m glad you enjoyed how I presented it (I was a tad bit worried, but went with it anyway)
That trailer was amaaaaaazing! Consider me intrigued! 😀
Oh my gosh, isn’t it simply amazing?! I love when there are trailers for novels and plan on incorporating more of them in my reviews. Gives it just an extra punch, ya know?
It’s an ongoing series..BUT.. in my opinion you do not have to start at the first one (altho they are all amazing). The intro to each new novel, and the background that the author provides on the first few pages is enough to give a new reader a simplistic background to the current story.
Thanks so much for stopping by. I’m so glad you were intrigued. 🙂
I haven’t read anything by Christine Feehan yet! But that trailer looks amazing, though that snake at the last really creeped me out!
Aarati recently posted…Waiting on Wednesday #2: The Trouble With Love
Hi Aarati,
Don’t let the snake put you off of the book. lol And yes the video was amazing. I think I like the idea of incorporating more of them into my reviews.
Christine Feehan is one of my favorite authors. Really, anything by her is an auto-buy for me.
Thanks for stopping over. 🙂
Sounds good but looks even better. Thanks for sharing and stopping by my blog
Hi Kate,
I took a chance on using the video – but I’m glad I did. It adds another level to the post, and perhaps to understanding why I love this series so much.
Thanks for the visit. I enjoyed being at your blog earlier. 🙂
I’ve read a couple of this series. Keep thinking I’ll get back to it. This one looks good!
Kay recently posted…Waiting on Wednesday – The Chessmen
Hi Kay,
With so many books out there that we want to read, it’s hard to keep up with them all. But I have to admit the Ghostwalkers will all draw me back. I love those guys n gals. 🙂
Thanks for the visit.
I’m not sure that this book would be something that I like. But I hope you like it.
Thanks for stopping by my post!
El @ So Bookalicious recently posted…Book Blast: Misery Loves Company (Miss Misery #3) by Tracey Martin
Hi El,
Totally understandable. Not everyone is going to like every book or style of book. There are so many awesome books around that I’ll never get the time to read.
I am enjoying it a lot.
Thanks for stopping by.
I am so, so, so far behind on this series, but you’re making me want to catch up. Great pick 🙂
Thanks for stopping by!
Kimberly
Wit and Sin
Hi Kimberly,
It is such a good series. They aren’t too close together — but sometimes the next novel seems years away. Probably because the author has, what… 4 0r 5 other series going on too? Guess every series just waits their turn lol
Thanks for visiting.
Wow. Sounds good. I love settings like that. Thanks for coming by my WoW .
Laura recently posted…Waiting on Wednesday #71 – The Dead Play On by Heather Graham
Hi Laura,
Christine Feehan seems to pick the most exotic settings for any of her books in any series. I think I enjoy discovering new lands in her books almost.. almost as much as the stories 🙂
Thanks for visiting 🙂
I haven’t read anything by the author but it does sounds interesting.
Check out our WOW Post
Happy Reading, Siobhán @ Totally Bookalicious
Hi Siobhan,
She’s really good. I have several of her series… every single book. lol
Thanks for stopping by 🙂
Marcy, this sounds really good, and I love the guy’s abs 😉 I have to check this out and see if I’ll have to add it to my TBR 🙂
Have a wonderful Wednesday.

Hi Lexxie,
I know, right? I wish my guy’s abs looked that good (sorry hun, love ya)
I think it’s a well worthwhile addition – but then I simply love this series, so I’m biased a wee bit. 🙂
Thanks for visiting today
I love when that happens (a book being released early that you really want to read!) Great pick, thanks for sharing!

Eva @ All Books Considered recently posted…Waiting on Wednesday: Jesse’s Girl (Hundred Oaks) by Miranda Kenneally
Hi Eva,
I had written the post early last week, knowing the release date was soon. I was so embarrassed when I saw it already launched. Then figured, heck with it I’m using it anyways – that video was too good to waste 😉
Thanks for the visit.
Great pick 🙂
Hi Megan,
Thanks 🙂
Glad you stopped by.
The summary sounds intriguing. I hope you enjoy it when it comes out! Thank you for, stopping by. 🙂
Old follower
Hi Jess,
I will enjoy it. I’m so wrapped up in these characters they all feel like old friends now.
Thanks for stopping by
This wouldn’t be the type of book that I would read but I do hope you really like it. Thank you for stopping by my blog earlier, and I loved the addition of the youtube clip 🙂
Edel @TheIrishBookworm recently posted…Waiting on Wednesday
Hi Edel,
I’m already enjoying it in between posts and replies on here 🙂 I couldn’t wait any longer.
Not every book is going to appeal to every person – that’s okay there are millions of other books that will.
Thanks for stopping by.
Ohhhh, a Feehan Fan — I already love you! ^^ Personally, I’m only reading the Dark series, but I am determined to collect the whole thing (my first one was book 15 or something), and then enjoy them all from first to last. I already made it to book 9, and I’m especially looking forward to Skyler’s and Dimitir’s story in 25!
Great pick this week, and thanks for stepping by!
Caro @ The Book Rogue recently posted…WoW #123 – When My Heart Was Wicked
Hi Caro,
Yes! “fist pump” another Feehan Fan.
I’m doing a re-read of the Dark series for my Throwback Thursday posts and a re-read Challenge. It truly is like visiting old friends again. Skyler and Dimitri… oh you are in for a treat. No spoilers though. 😉
Enjoy the Dark series and thanks for visiting.
*high fives* Haha, aren’t they all treats?! But I so fell in love with Skyler and Dimitri during Dark Celebration, I think they will turn out to be my favorite couple of the series. =)
Caro @ The Book Rogue recently posted…[Book Blitz & Giveaway] Into a Million Pieces by Angela V. Cook
Mikhail and Raven will always be my top favorite couple of the series. She is so strong, and handles the Prince so easily with her quiet words and love..
But my second favorites are definitely Skyler and Dimitri, not only because I know now how it worked for them – but because we get glimpses of them woven throughout the books leading up to their story. A sentence here, a comment there – it’s like we are in a way watching her grow up to be ready for Dimitri.
I just love the Carpathian world and hope the novels keep coming for a long time. 🙂
I’ve read Feehan before, hope you enjoy it.
Brigid recently posted…Waiting on Wednesday: The Orphan Queen by Jodi Meadows

Thanks, I’m into it now and having fun diving back into a favorite series.
Thanks for stopping over. 🙂
Looks good! Never heard of it, but I just might have to add it to my TBR.
Thanks for stopping by earlier! Happy Reading
Hi Erica,
If you like suspense, sexy, strong military type alpha guys – with a touch of paranormal then you might like it.
Thanks for the visit 🙂
This one is new to me, it looks interesting.
Thanks for visiting My WOW
Hi Adriana,
It’s very good so far.
Thanks for visiting.
Thanks for sharing the trailer. Definitely caught my interest. Hope you’re enjoying the book.

Hi Marilyn,
That trailer has prompted a lot of comments today. Really glad I included it.
I am enjoying it very much, thanks.
Thanks for visiting 🙂
Wow, this one is totally new to me, but wow, that trailer definitely caught my attention!! Awesome pick!
Thanks for stopping by my WoW @ Addicted Readers!! 🙂
Hi Alicia,
I love the trailer. I’ve probably watched it every time I landed on the post today for replies. *innocent whistle* Well, it was there might as well watch it. 🙂
Thanks for visiting.
Hello Abs. What? This post is about a book? Sorry, too busy drooling. XD
I haven’t actually ready any of her books yet, but I have her other (at least I believe they are separate series) series on my TBR already. But this one sounds pretty good too.
Dreams recently posted…A Last Minute Addition (Waiting on Wednesday #83)
Hi,
Mmmm. I know.
But on to the book (the video was a gift to my visitors) 😉
You “could” read any of the “Game” books alone. Yes, you would get the whole back story from the start at book 1, but Ms. Feehan includes on the very first pages before the story starts a mini-guide so to speak of the series. What the tattoo on their arms stands for, the pledge of the Ghostwalkers and such.
She has 4 or 5 series.. another one of hers is the Dark series..Vampires. Awesome books.
Thanks for visiting (glad you enjoyed the Abs)
Interesting setting within the Bayou and all. Thanks for stopping by my WOW!
Hi Tressa,
When you put together the mystery of the swamp (all those hidden dangers) and a hot Alpha man = great story.
Thanks for visiting 🙂
I hadn’t heard of this book or author but it has definitely spiked my interest! I am so checking it out! Thanks for sharing!
Betsy @ I Sold My Soul For Books recently posted…Waiting on Wednesday: Spelled by Betsy Schow
Hi Betsy,
If you enjoy , deep, in depth vampire novels or wildly sexy shifters or mystical, elemental and a very close interwoven family of witches series … these are some of Ms. Feehan’s series. In my opinion she has something for everyone who enjoys paranormal.
Her diversity at creating an entire world, a rich world full of traditions, background and carrying that forward throughout every series consistently is one of the reason her books are an auto-buy for me. Aside from the fact that they are interesting stories.
Thanks for visiting 🙂
That video had me saying, “oh, hell yes”. But it would be quite some time before I got to this. I simply cannot start a series with anything other than Book 1.
A friend of mine whose taste mirrors mine is mad about Christine, so this series gets an automatic add to the TBR.
Cheers,

Hi Page,
The video was amazing. 😉
I totally understand needing to start a series at the beginning so I won’t mention the vampires in the Dark series – the Carpathians – which has about 25ish books in it now. *innocent smile*.
You both have very good taste, in my opinion. If you ever get the chance to start one of Ms. Feehan’s series at the very beginning I truly believe you’d be hooked.
Thanks for visiting.
That’s smoking hot! Lol! Really interesting (abs) book! 🙂
NYZE@EverythingNyze
Hi Nyze,
I know, right? LoL
It was my pleasure to share the (abs) erm the book with everyone. It’s going to be as hot to read as it was to watch the trailer. 🙂
Thanks for the visit.
This is an incredibly AWESOME pick!! I’m waiting on this one, too!! And Feehan is one of my VERY favorite PNR writers, so I know this will be just off the charts…. That trailer image of Wyatt is HOT, HOT, HOT!!!! Thanks for sharing this book!
Also, thanks so much for visiting my WOW and commenting on it. Sorry for the delayed comment back…. : )

No worries – life happens. 🙂
I know, so hot. All of Ms. Feehan’s alpha men are sexy to the bone – and for that I am eternally grateful. lol I simply love her books.
Thanks for visiting.
