“Waiting on” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking The Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.
I am such a fan of Jayne Ann Krentz and her historical alter-ego, Amanda Quick.
Garden of Lies is due out on April 15, 2015. Definitely looking forward to another Quick trip back in history.
The Kern Secretarial Agency provides reliable professional services to its wealthy clientele, and Anne Clifton was one of the finest women in Ursula Kern’s employ. But Miss Clifton has met an untimely end – and Ursula is convinced it was not due to natural causes.
Archaeologist and adventurer Slater Roxton thinks Mrs. Kern is off her head to meddle in such dangerous business. Nevertheless, he seems sensible enough to Ursula, though she does find herself unnerved by his self-possession and unreadable green-gold eyes…
If this mysterious widowed beauty insists on stirring the pot, Slater intends to remain close by as they venture into the dark side of polite society. Together they must reveal the identity of a killer – and to achieve their goal they may need to reveal their deepest secrets to each other as well…
Isn’t it funny how different countries end up with different covers. After giving it serious consideration I think I actually like the United Kingdom cover better. It speaks more of mystery, murder and mayhem to me… in my opinion, anyway. 🙂
Amanda Quick is a really great author! 🙂
TMY WAITING ON WEDNESDAY!
I’ve always enjoyed her works. I follow The Arcane Society, which is a historical paranormal, but her stand alones non-paranormals are very good too.
Thanks for visiting.
I’ve really enjoyed several of Amanda Quick’s books. And I agree with your assessment of the UK cover. Enjoy!

I almost wish we could pick which cover we want from the bookshelves when we buy the books. 🙂 I’d like that option very much.
Thanks for visiting.
I haven’t read any of her books, but this one sounds pretty good! I’ll have to check it out!

It always fascinates me when authors write under several names. Amanda Quick= Jayne Castle= Jayne Ann Krentz. And each has a unique “style” of writing. I admire that kind of talent. 🙂
Thanks for visiting.
I like the UK cover too! I hope you enjoy it!

I hope so too. I’ll find out in about a month. 🙂
Thanks for visiting.
I haven’t read any of Amanda Quick’s books, but Garden of Lies sounds interesting! I agree that the UK cover looks more mysterious, but I like the US version too!

Covers are so personal aren’t they? I hate to judge a book by a cover – but at times, the cover either speaks to me first or it doesn’t – and that matters whether I pick up the book to read the back cover, or not.
Thanks for visiting.
Great choice! This is the first that I’ve heard of this one but it does sound pretty good. Thanks for bringing it to my attention and I hope you enjoy it when it’s released!

I know! It’s such a treat when authors write under different names – it’s like double my reading enjoyment. 🙂
