Millie Cross knows what it’s like to burn for someone. She was young and wild and he was fierce and even wilder-a Chaos biker who made her heart pound. They fell in love at first sight and life was good, until she learned she couldn’t be the woman he needed and made it so he had no choice but to walk away. Twenty years later, Millie’s chance run-in with her old flame sparks a desire she just can’t ignore. And this time, she won’t let him ride off . . .
Bad boy Logan “High” Judd has seen his share of troubles with the law. Yet it was a beautiful woman who broke him. After ending a loveless marriage, High is shocked when his true love walks back into his life. Millie is still gorgeous, but she’s just a ghost of her former self. High’s intrigued at the change, but her betrayal cut him deep-and he doesn’t want to get burned again. As High sinks into meting out vengeance for Millie’s betrayal, he’ll break all over again when he realizes just how Millie walked through fire for her man.
Read on for my thoughts on Walk Through Fire. No true spoilers, promise.
There was a time when I would have sworn to you by everything I hold dear that Motorcycle Man was my all time favorite Chaos story. (yes I know it’s from Dream Men – but for me that story is where Chaos got its start) Now, I cannot dethrone that story, no way can I do that – but I can put Walk Through Fire right beside it on that highest of compliments I can give to a story.
Today, if you asked me for my favorite novel of any genre of 2015 – hands down, without hesitation: Walk Through Fire.
Millie and High’s story is going to pull you in, chew you up, hurt you bad, toss you aside and maybe if you’re lucky hand you a greasy cloth to wipe at your wounds. And just when you think you cannot stand any more pain – the love of these two people will begin to heal you, to put you back together and give you one of the most emotionally wrenching stories I have ever read.
No, I’m not going to break down the story any more than what the cover description gives you. You need to read this one for yourself from the very first word right up until the last period on the page. This one is an emotional experience, and I am not going to spoil that for anyone.
I can tell you I’ve only given one 5+ rating …for this amazing story. Give yourself a gift today, go pick up Walk Through Fire. And get ready to feel.
Highly recommend this story, but then you knew I’d say that.
*I received an e-ARC of Walk Through Fire from the publisher and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. That does not change what I think of this novel.*
